Review: Vichy Aqualia Thermal Aqual-Gel Mineral

The other day, I went to Watsons to get a new set of my Vichy facial care for the new house and I was asking them about their night moisturizer. I've been diligently using Laneige water bank gel cream and am already in my 2nd bottle. However, I find the Laneige water bank gel cream a little too rich for my skin.

After applying every night, before I sleep, my face turns slightly oily again.  It wasn't that bad at first but ever since the 2nd bottle, my skin starts to turn oily before I sleep.

I think their sleeping pack is still the better choice to apply before you sleep. It absorbs fast into your skin and won't have the sticky feeling on your skin after applying.

So, I was introudced to Vichy Aqualia Thermal Aqual-Gel Mineral. Watsons was having 20% so I don't mind getting 1 bottle to replace my current night mosturizer.

It's one of their latest products and in the past, it's not of this packaging in the past. The formula has improved too as compared to the previous range.

Anyway they have the normal cream and the gel cream. The sales person recommended I go for the gel type because it's light on the skin and the cream type are suitable for middle-aged woman.

Looks no much different from the Laneige water bank gel cream I've been using.

The cream is transparent gel. Pardon for my veins..

After rubbing one time..

And after rubbing for 2 to 3 times, the gel has fully absorbed leaving a non-sticky texture.

I've been using for a week or so, till now it's still acceptable and does not makes my skin feel oily even before I sleep. Hope that it maintains, if not I've got to find other alternatives again!

I was given samples of their latest Aqualia Thermal Essence

I tried it the very next day, no idea if I've applied too much or what, it leaves a sticky feeling on my skin.

I didn't really see much visible effects yet but that might be because I only tried it once.Guess I won't buy the essence because I find it too troublesome to apply too much things on my face before leaving home.

That's all for my review on Vichy Aqualia Thermal Aqual-Gel Mineral.

Teeth Whitening @ Only Asthetics Part II

I went back to Only Asthetics to have my teeth whiten for the 2nd time. It's been 3 months since I last did it, they recommend 3 months gap in between each treatment, so you can't do it really often though. Just in case you missed it, here if my link for the first teeth whitening experience with Only Asthetics.

Anyway this time, it was for my pre-wedding photoshoot :)

I'm glad that the whitening effects do stays after the first time.

Teeth before whitening and teeth after whitening for 3 months :)

As so the treatment started for the 2nd time...

It wasn't as discomfort as the first time. Time passes much faster than previously, but this time round the whitening effect wasn't that obvious as compare to the first time. Guess it just goes a few degree whiter but not perfect yet.

The results of the 2nd treatment.

The comparison as below:

I do hope to maintain it as for now till my actual day wedding. I still have 2 more session to go, shall use it when it's near my AD :)

Teeth whitening has probably been one of the best decisions I've made in life other than marrying Derp haha! No regrets and it really solve my stained tooth problem!

Nevertheless, I still have to maintain the whiteness of my teeth by myself, by drinking less coffee/tea.

Nihon Mura @ The Cathay

It was one of those date nights and this time round we head to town. It's been awhile we head to town because we have been so busy with everything lately.

We went to The Cathay to recee our pre-wedding photoshoot area.

At first we wanted to dine in at Concetto but the queue was way too long. The review of the food is so-so, hence we didn't waste time to eat that though it's affordable. I do think Saveur is still a better choice but nevertheless, I'll make a trip to Concetto one of these days.

We walked to the basement and can't really decide what to eat because there's quite a number of restaurants there. Many of which have really long queue and there was a ramen shop which have no queue at all. I don't really think I can finish a bowl of ramen and Derp don't like to share food with me, I feel that I'm going to waste food and money hence we didn't go ahead into the ramen restaurant.

We spotted Nihon Mura nearby and I do thinksushi is the best choice! Eat what you can and that's it. I was still feeling unwell then(super sian to fall sick just  4-5 days before your photoshoot) and I just want to get my dinner fixed, recee the place and go home rest.

The queue for Nihon Mura @ The Cathay was quite long but thankfully the turnover rate is quite fast too. Later then I find out that, they actually allow customers to eat a maximum of 1 hour, express dinner they would call it. I do find the idea pretty appropriate because afterall that's not a buffet place.

Touch screen ordering system

All the plates is $1.50 each and so here's what we have took from the conveyor belt/ ordered:

My new found faviorute: Salmon Aburi Sushi

It's pretty good I must say, good enough to satisfy my craving :)

The must order whenever we go any sushi places.

Another mandatory order..

Derp's handroll, I can't really remember what is inside..

We shared the Chwanmushi.

Fried toufu. Nth special but yet it's another must-order item for us.

Force Derp to take a picture before tucking in..

:)

Guess we are the only ones who indulge in good food before our wedding shoot.

I do find the Nihon Mura @ The Cathay a pretty nice place and more atas feeling as compared to the branch at Nihon Mura @ Jurong West SRC. It's defintely a place for you to fix your sushi craving if you are around that area. When we left, there's still many people queuing to dine in!

We walked around the place after our dinner and passed by this push cart having some accessories on sales.

This really big and bling snow flake caught my eyes because it totally reminded me of Frozen :) Derp and I love that movie a lot and we have been listening to the movie sound track ever since we watched it! We always sing along to the sountrack whenever one of us play it at home haha!

Though I'm not a fan of long necklace but I just decide to get it. Probably, a necklace for xmas time!

Do you wanna build a snowman?
Come on lets go and play
I never see you anymore
Come out the door
It's like you've gone away-
We used to be best buddies
And now we're not
I wish you would tell me why!-
Do you wanna build a snowman?
It doesn't have to be a snowman.

Latest Cosmetics Loots from Etude House

It's been a pretty long while since I stepped into Etude House. Actually, I was looking for a lip stick and also eyeshadow. It was intended for my pre-wedding photoshoot, one of the segment we requested to be our most normal self hence no thick make up from the bridal studio, everything will be done by me!

Alright I shall not say more till I blog about my photoshoot. (If I feel like it before my actual day wedding haha!).

I was looking for a lip stick that's natural and also lasting. At first, I was tempted to get the cheong song yi's lipstick color but reckon I don't have the guts to put it on. Though I must admit, it's really damn chio! Perhaps it's just her who can bring out that color and look gorgeous in it. Not anyone who wear it can be as nice as her hahah!

So I walked into Etude House and requested for a lasting lip stick. Here's what I've gotten...

Etude House's Crystal Shine Lips Lipstick.

The color I chose.

The texture was pretty smooth and don't have the sticky feeling after applying. I didn't choose gloss because I think it's not lasting and will have the sticky feeling after putting it on.

Went home and tried it on immediately..

Not bad right? I think the color is quite natural.

Next, I requested for a eyeshadow which is easy to apply. At first she showed me a palette with many colors and I told her it's too complicated for me. lol!

Etude House Cupcake Eyeshadow

Just 2 colours. The lighter shade as the background and the darker shade at the corner of your eyes. Easy!

I've also gotten a eye brow kit. They don't have eyebrow pencil that comes with a lighter shade. My eyebrow embroidery have fade until almost 80% gone already. I'm so going to touch up soon!

Etude House Eyebrow Kit

3 different shades of brown. I use the middle one most often since I have not very dark colors hair.

And the results of all these new loots mixed together with my current makeup set is not that bad!

The lightnings in the toilet isn't that good so you can't really see the eye shadow that clearly. What's more, it's a earthy tones so I guess one can't really tell from picture unless it's real life.

This was the makeup done by myself for part of the pre-wedding shoot!

Overall, all the items I've mentioned above are easy to use and doesn't cause much trouble to my skin. They are affordable too :) All these probably going to last me for quite sometime since I hardly make up on a day to day basis!

Grandma's Restaurant @ Raffles City Shopping Centre

It was one of our another typical date night after our gown fitting for photoshoot.

Everything was settled within 3 hours and no doubt it was tiring. We were famished by then and would just popped in to any restaurants which have the shortest queue to have our dinner.

Our bridal studio was near to Raffles City Shopping Centre and we roamed around the basement and settled down at Grandma's for our dinner. They have recently open a branch in Jurong Point but I've yet to try it yet.

As the name suggest, Grandma's serves mainly local food and they are famous for their local delights such as Nasi Lemak, Laksa and etc. Their menu are quite extensive and they also serves local tze char food :)

The yummy prawn crackers as appetizer. Glad to have this because we were really hungry while waiting for our food to be served.

We decide to order their tze char food and we over ordered as usual.

Stir Fried Dou Miao with Garlic. A pretty decent dish.

Claypot Beancurd with Seafood. The portion was really huge.

I can't really remember the name of this egg. But it comes with lots of prawns and onions inside.

The portion of all the dishes were comparable to those tze char stalls at coffee shop. They were generous with their ingredients too.

Overall, the dining experience was not bad at Grandma's. Our total bill came up to $40 and we did ordered their grass jelly drink which is going at $1 per cup. The service wasn't too bad and I can tell they were really busy and short handed on a public holiday eve. Our food came fast too.

It's expensive for tze char food or should I say the more atas type of tze char restaurant since it's located in a air con place hence that explains the price.

I've a new found love on blue floral prints on white dress. This is my probably 3rd or 4th dress in such prints lol! Derp has been thinking I'm wearing the same dress all the while and what's the point of taking the OOTD. It's mad comfy and though it doesn't comes with adjustable strip, it's free size and you won't feel that the top is too low :) It basically fits everyone like a glove and you can match it with jeans/shorts easily. It's flattering too and when I saw it on their instagram before it was launched, I know I had to get it :)

Detailed review is up here :)

5) Catwalkclose's Annelise Dress

I did not do a review on BOS because some other people have done it :) No inner lining for the dress but it's good enough. Non sheer, fits well and flattering. Love the color too because it's pink!

6) My Glamour Place's Duomo Dress in Blue

I love how the dress is designed in the way it comes with pocket :) Yet another thick dress manufactured by My Glamour Place. They do always have quality clothes :) Review are up here

6) Hollyhoque Accent of Adorable Dress in Peppermint

I thought this dress was a new launch when I visited their new shop front at Orchard Gateway. Apparantely it's not, and this dress didn't caught my eyes when they launched it. Only when I see the dress physically and try it on, never did I know that it's flattering too :)

Reviews of the dress can be found here. Thankfully, there was a 10% discount because of the new shop front opening! Good steal afterall.

Alright, till then to the next outfit review!
