More Outfit Reviews...

Back with yet another round of outfit reviews..

1) Hollyhoque - The Perfect Bridesmaid Dress

A really sweet dress from Hollyhoque. Got it during their flash sales :) Other that the ptp area is quite loose for me, the dress is of a good fit. Detailed review can be found here.

2) Love Bonito - Lorienne Dress

This prints totally remind me of the romper I wore to Kyler's 1st Birthday Party. A very good quality dress but I've yet to find the ocassion to wear it yet. Not a dress to wear for going to buffet dinner lol. The detailed reviews are up here.

3) Floret Casual Romper

One of those days at the new kampung enjoying some ice cream on a hot saturday! Another romper from Hollyhoque's sales and I find it a pretty loose at the ptp too. Got to send it for alternation if I wish to rewear it though. No detailed review of this as this romper belongs to past collection.

4) Fairebelle - Mon Ange Frock

I have been wearing this pastel hues dress many many times to work and never got sick of it :) Details reviews can be found here

4) Love Bonito - Carlynn Dress

Have reviewed this dress before and I finally wore it out for anniversary dinner with Derp. Will blog about the anniversary dinner soon! Stay tuned :)

4) My Glamour Place - Kyra Cutout Dress

Loves how the dress create a slim waist effect with the contrasting band at the waist line :) Slight loose at the ptp area but overall a acceptable work dress! Detailed review here

4) My Glamour Place - Lorena Skorts Romper in Cobalt Blue

Last but not least, a skorts romper! One of the better quality rompers I've ever owned. I foresee myself wearing it pretty often. Oh and I do miss that long hair of mine but they are way too hard to maintain so I snip them off!

That's all for my outfit reviews for now, stay tune for the next round then!

Jurong Lake Run 2014: Light up the night

It's my 2nd time participating in Jurong Lake Run and it's a run that holds so much meaning to me! Jurong Lake Run 2013 felt like it just happened yesterday and I can't believe it's time for Jurong Lake Run 2014.

They organized a evening run this year, which is something different compared to the past few years. I was quite disappointed because I do prefer morning run than a evening run. But because, Jurong holds so much memories and meaning to me, I know I won't give the race a miss  :) What's more, I only completed the 6km run last year and this year I intend to challenge myself to the 10km! It was more like a leisure run.

Last year, I ran the race myself (Sign up, ran and completed it alone!) and this year I've Derp running with me.

The race pack collection was held in Chinese Garden itself. Last year, it was held at Taman Jurong CC(due to the haze alert) which I think is indeed a better place. We had to walk nearly 1km from Chinese Garden MRT to get to the race expo #hotdieme

I didn't collect the race pack at the scheduled time because I miss it (too busy with the new house) so I went on the next day instead. There wasn't much people on the 2nd day of race pack collection so the whole process was fast and smooth. :)

As usual, there were various booths selling all the different sports stuff like energy gels, sports wear and etc. Derp got himself some yummy sweets which are healthy too! It's a taiwan product, pretty costly for sweets but at the very least, it tasted good!

Saw this big ass JLR sign and couldn't help but snap a photo with it!

And so we went back home to try on our running vests. Many people were complaining on their facebook regarding the sizing being really too small. My belly button was showing  It was at least 3 inches off compare to last year singlet. A big hoo haa was created with people demanding for size exchange.

However, the management only allow exchange between the runners.

The very next day, they announced there's some defects with their singlet. If you singlet is 1.5 inches off from the measurement on the website, you can go down to exchange but it's size to size exchange. Meaning size S for another size S.

I happily went home to measure my singlet again and match it on the website. To my surprise, the measurements were almost similar to that on the website! I'm quite certain that when I chose the singlet size the very first time(when I was registering it), it was more than loose for me and the length is also long! But somehow the actual size I received, was much more shorter. :(

I gave up the idea of exchanging the singlet because I'm afraid if I go down to change it, they give me back the same size again. It will be wasting my trip down.

The very next day again, they announced that they will be allowing everyone who wish to have their size exchange for another size to be done within the next few days. I then realized someone posted the below picture on their facebook page and somehow they got no choice but to allow the exchange to be done.

The running vests singlet measurement on their website in March as compared to that in June.

No idea where has the integrity/ethics gone to, or it may just be their IT personnel mistake. Thankfully, there's someone who took a screen shot of it and posted it online!

Come to think of it, we have already paid for the race and should get our entitlements. But it wasn't our fault that we chose the wrong size, the measurements were changed and no one was informed about it.

I rushed down after work to exchange for a bigger singlet size for Derp and myself. I'm afraid that  I couldn't get the size we wanted because it's on a first come first serve basis. But phew, I worry too much haha!

Pardon the messy background (trust me it's much better now because I've already start packing for moving house) , the singlet finally covers my belly button hahaha!

Our newly exchanged singlets and bibs, all ready for JLR that Saturday.

Fast forward to the race day, we left house a little late because we are taking it for granted that it's just 3 MRT stations away. The walk way to the start point was slightly different from last year due to some renovations going on.

When we reached the place, we headed to the baggage deposit. We spotted a long queue and just happily joined in. But who knows that's for people who have not buy the plastic bag  for baggage deposit. A volunteer came to tell us that is not the queue for bag deposit and directed us to the correct queue. Thanks for him if not we will be really late for the race.

The race have already flagged off while we were at the baggage deposit.

Walking towards the starting line (outside science centre)

Yes, it has already flag off but we were taking our own sweet time before crossing the starting line. Chill and did some warm up to get ready!

The first 2-3 km was really hot because the sun is directly shining on us. I didn't bring my cap along because it's a evening/night run.#regret The route was no different from last year, the first few kms were the best to run at because it was really wide.

Around 1/2 hour into the race, the sun starts to set and the sky started to turn dark. Now I regret not bringing my lights out because some part of the route was really really dark. #remindedmeofsundown The sun set scenery was really beautiful and it has all been captured in my memory. :)

There were sufficient water points and there were 100 plus at every station! Woo hoo! But I think I did drank a little too much and I felt uncomfortable after the race.

Upon finishing the marathon, the human bottle neck to collect the medal and finisher tee was really horrible. I felt as feel I can faint anytime because it was really crampy and lack of oxygen (especially after a 10km race, you just need more air!) I do hope that they can improve on that because I don't remember it being like that last year!

We went to find my colis/ex colis after collecting the finisher tee and medal for photos!

The group of us present at the Jurong Lake Run.

The trio.

Another pics of us credits to #runningshots

I was literally breathless and trying to gasp for some air while going up the bridge. Can someone explain to my why my spouse won't tired one ah? bth! He told me he look as if he's going shopping.

Yet another race checked off the to-run-marathons list of 2014.

I ran JLR with mixed feelings because I'm moving out of Jurong really soon. I'm gonna miss this beautiful Chinese Garden which I passed by everyday whenever I took train. This scenery/image have been with me for the past 25 years. It wasn't one of our best race ran, but it was definitely one of the more meaningful and memorable ones. I've also spend countless of mid autumn festival in Chinese Garden before. My dear parents use to bring me there pretty often when I was young to carry lanterns.

For every 1 km ran, JLR donate 1 dollar to their beneficiary charity. Hurray! I'm proud to say that we have each raised 10 bucks :) Running a charity race is definitely much more meaningful  because you are doing something good as well as keeping fit.

I'm gonna miss this place much.  if time allows, I will be back for JLR 2015.

Jurong, the place where I grew up in since birth, thank you for being so awesome and thank you JLR for the memories.

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao @ Jurong Point

The Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao @ Jurong Point has relocated to a new location.

It's now located at the newly renovated Hong Kong street with lots of new food stalls liks Hot Star, 7" Pizza and many more! For those who are more familar with Jurong Point, it's near the 24 hours NTUC Xtra .

I'm pretty much excited about the new stores opening because I can finally try something new :)

Anyway, back to Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao, their business have been blooming since they relocate. I thought I'm the only 贪吃猫 (Greedy cat) around because I'm drooling whenever I walk pass, the aroma from the restaurant can be smell even 50 metres away.  When Derp pass by to get his dinner the other day, he told me he's tempted too lol!

And so, we make time to go there for dinner on one of the Friday date nights :):) There was still a long queue even though it was 8++pm when we started joining the queue. It has already opened for a week plus and the queue is still so long! Seems like they have been neglected all this time while they were being hidden in a small corner.

Hereby presenting to you, the newly renovated Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao @ Jurong Point.

It's a open concept restaurant. In the past, they were hidden in a dark corner and no one can see what's happening inside lol.

They even have a 'fish tank' to show how xiao long baos is being made. I think that sort of serves as a plus point for them because everyone tend to kpo what's going on in there.

I went upfront to take a look while waiting for my queue number to be called.

We usually ordered the 'usuals' hence we didn't take long to decide. We did flipped around their menu to see if there's any changes and I found out that they have so many types of noodles for you to choose from.

That's like 8 different types of noodles! O.O, there's even a 'triangle' la mian. Won't it be difficult to kiap? haha!

We settled on 'flat face' la mian because it somewhat looks like ang moh pasta linguine noodles. Btw, that's our favourite noodles.

When asked by the waiter do we want our noodles to be cut, Derp immediately say 'no'. We sort of regretted it after that because it's really not easy to eat especially when the noodles kept slipping out of your chopsticks easily.

I ordered the 'zha jiang mian'.

Their servings are really huge and I honestly think we can share a bowl of noodles. When I start stirring it, the amount of noodles is whopping alot!

My 'flat' noodles zha jiang mian!

What's the point of going to Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao  without ordering their signature xiao long bao? :)

Derp ordered their sour and spicy la mian. His 'usual' main at Crystal Jade :)

I can't even finish more than half of my noodles! We reckoned we should just order 1 bowl of noodles to share and a basket of xiao long bao in future. #theirportionisreallyhuge

I saw the couple next to us ordering their spicy chicken la mian which looks really good! I shall try it the next time round :)

Our meal costs us a total of $30 after gst. Really very worth it!

Welcoming Baby Elna

A year and 2 months after Baby Kyler was born(and yup I recently blog about Kyler's 1 year old party ), Baby Elna came to this world too! I'm so proud of my bestie that she have formed a '好' word which most of the parents have always wished for :) She's so blessed and must have done many good deeds in her past and current life that she get what she wanted!

I'm super happy for her because she make me feel that she had completed her mission of giving birth to at least 2 to replace the ageing population lol!

Baby Elna opened her eyes the moment she's out on 13th June 2014

Photo taken by her dad :)

I went down after work that day to visit the mother and her day 0 daughter. This time round, all of us visited her at different time and each of us didn't stayed too long and went off. No chance to gather everyone this time round but we'll see each other again at Elna's baby shower!

When I reached the ward, Esther was holding on to Baby Elna in her arms and watching tv. Esther is so much more pro and relax now! #experiencedmum We started catching up a little and then it's photo taking max of Baby Elna :)

Some pics of Baby Elna taken by me. She's such a darling and slept so soundly throughout (even when I carry her!)

So cute~

She placed her hands there herself haha!

Congrats on her new born once again!

And then it was my turn to carry Elna. All new borns are so so fragile and of cause light!

With Baby Elna sleeping soundly in my arms. Kyler fidget much more when I carry him back then lol.

Last but not least,  a photo with Mummy Esther with Elna too :)

So so happy for my bestie! To me, it's not easy to take care of 1 kid, don't even mention 2 kids. She sacrifices all her free time to her 2 kids. Something which I 做不到 for now and probably these few years.

#妈妈永远是最伟大的

Looking forward to Baby Elna's baby shower next month. Can't wait to see her again :):)

A jog to Jurong Eco-Garden

It's was one of those Sundays whereby we were lazing around, doing our own stuff. I do enjoy that very often because it's the day to wind down and chill before Monday arrives. Yay to more free time since renovation is over :)

One week have passed since Sundown Marathon and I suggest we should hit the track soon, so we decided to venture into the newly opened Jurong Eco-Garden since I'm getting bored of my current running route.

I chanced upon the news article announcing Jurong has a new attraction called the Jurong Eco-garden. It looks really not bad and quite a big place, seems like a good place to have a jog/stroll in :)

I went to find out where the place is and it's really near to my place parent's place. I told Derp we could actually just run there and run back. It shouldn't pose much a problem :)  Derp was quite doubtful about the distance but I assure him it's really near! I took the effort to go onemap.sg to measure the route out and show him.

Though at first I was afraid there's no water point and we might just be thirsty max. But fret not there's a water cooler in Jurong Eco-Garden

The route there wasn't that challenging, there were only 1 upslope and also some trails along the way. Some parts of the road was uneven but most of time it was more than okay. We were running beside the road but thankfully it was weekend, the traffic wasn't that bad if not we will be breathing in lots of unhealthy air!

It was a near 3km jog to reach there and we passed by this pottery sign directing visitors to it's pottery centre located inside Jurong Eco-Garden.  Apparently,  this pottery place has been there for really long and what they did were to build a garden around it.

The Jurong Eco-Garden is just next to this CleanTech I and CleanTech II Office. And not forgetting, this CleanTech offices are just outside one of the NTU entrances. If you are heading towards the NIE or the NTU Hall 10++ area, this park is really near there :)

When we reached there in the evening time, there were quite a number of families there since it's the school holidays. Parents bringing kids out to explore the nature instead of doing things like playing iPad and etc. Thumbs up for the effort!

Derp was worried than sun will set really soon so we explored the place pretty fast. Once the sun set, our route back will be quite dark(should have brought the lights we used for sundown out, at the very least we feel safer with that), and we will get unwanted stings on our legs!

We were running around from place to place in Jurong Eco-Garden and probably everyone wonder why lol!

The map of Jurong Eco-Garden. And the top 2 building are the Clean Tech I and Clean Tech II offices.

Types of wildlife to look out for but we didn't get to see any!

There is this Summit Lookout which allows you to have a nice view right up at the peak of Jurong Eco-Garden. We took pictures before heading up to the summit.

The over view of Jurong-Eco Garden

I know our pose are all the same! lol!

We spotted this sculpted maze. And we do think it looks like the trolls in Frozen, perhaps a longer version lol!

All these were found at the north of Jurong Eco-garden, so we headed down south all the way since we have covered the north area.

Love the greenery!

By right you are supposed to see some animals but we totally didn't encounter any of them! There were some interesting plants around but we didn't really give a 2nd look.

Met some couple who wore quite nice and visit there, I can only say try to be your in your most comfort wear  because Singapore is really humid!

Some other photos along the way...

Now you know what I meant by same pose. lol!
\

We came by this area which teaches you about composting waste and went to check it out. So Derp went to open all the various containers to see what's inside.

The various containers show the dried leaves/rubbish/waste at different weeks ranging from week 1 all the way to week 12.

We spotted this old couple who has this really cute Pomeranian and taking a stroll exploring the area just like us. Derp and I have an agreement  when we are old and have retire we will have the dog that we wanted all these years to accompany us during our good old days. If you are wondering why not now, because we are still working and the poor dog will be dump at home and no one will accompany him/her. That's damn sad.

More things that can be found at Jurong Eco-Garden but we spot none!

Spotted yet another interesting sculpture while walking..

Okay la, it's basically trying to display the rain forest in a artsy fartsy way.

Not forgetting to take a mandatory shot with it..

Spotted this pavilion in the middle of the swamps...

Didn't realise Derp's shot was blur! Opps.

One of my favourite #OOTD of all time, sports attire!

Ending this posts with just 2 more pics of Jurong Eco-Garden..
