Asian Market Café @ Fairmont Hotel

After Jason and Claire's Solmenization Ceremony, all of us proceed to Asian Market Café @ Fairmont Hotel for the second part of the celebration for this joyous occasion.

I wasn't pining high hopes on the buffet as I didn't had a good experience at Café Swiss @ Swissotel due to the lack of variety of food being served.

To my surprise, Asian Market Café @ Fairmont Hotel  does serve a wide variety of food for their buffet. As the name of the restaurant suggests, they served lots of Asian food!

Fresh seafood which I didn't take any of them! I used to love them lots but not anymore.

As usual, I took lots of salmon. This picture doesn't do any justice to their salmon as the chef have not refill yet.

You can create your own noodles too.

The satay station which everyone was queuing up for to wait for freshly cooked satay :)

A variety of condiments to go with your satay.

The cooked food section doesn't serve a wide variety as they already have a wide variety of Asian food( local delights) !

The roti prata station whereby pipping hot roti prata are being served.

There's also the thai food station which I didn't took photo of.

Here comes the dessert station, lots of local delights for example: chendol and ice kachang.

The cakes and pastries doesn't taste that impressive but rather average, However, they have durian puree! So durian lovers, do keep a look out for that.

The service of the place was quite good (not as bad as those reviews I read online) and they cleared the plates on your table fast enough, not forgetting they also refill your water without being prompted.

Asian Market Café is halal certified restaurant. Hence, I will highly recommend my Muslim friends to go for this buffet if they ever ask me for recommendation on halal-certified buffets. :)

One year ago on this day, I said Yes!

Some #throwback pictures of the memorable day...

You can read the full proposal story here :)

And one year later, we are officially married in the eyes of the law(but not the chinese customary wedding), enjoying ourselves in our comfortable new house which solely belongs to us :)

Time flies and thanks Derp for making that proposal day such a memorable one!

Jase and Claire's Engagement

A big warm welcome to Claire who has just join Esther and Me under the 'Mrs' group! Jason and her have decided to tie the knot on 12th September 2014 :)

It was on a Friday and I took leave to take a break as well as to prepare the house for house warming which is happening that weekend. In the end, I rest too much and didn't have time to do much and when I finally realise that, I'm already rushing out of the house to attend the solemnization.

The whole solmenization was a simple affair happening at Fort Canning and after which we had dinner at Asian Market @ Fairmont Hotel. I will blog about the review of the buffet soon :)

Anyway, Esther met us at the taxi stand of Raffles City Shopping Center and gave us a ride up Fort Caning. If we were to walk there, we will probably sweat a bucket.

We were there early and the couple were already there. Apparently, Claire's dad (who was supposed to be the witness) was stuck in a meeting and they thought he couldn't make it. So they waited till the very last minute and went to change the witness to Claire's Mum.

In the end, he managed to rush down just before the solemnization ceremony but by then it's too late as they have already change the witness to Claire's Mum. You have to pay $15 just to change the name.

Oh well, Claire was very calm all the while and she handled this whole small hiccup really well. That's our Claire! :)

Some group pics before the solmenization ceremony...

Our usual group photo with an additional member!

All of us were pretty drained at the end of the day after entertaining Kyler -_-" It's not easy to handle kids especially those who has just learned to walk!

The solmenization ceremony.

Their JP is the same as the one during Esther and Kasons' Solmenization.  It wasn't pre-arrange so it's much of a coincidence!

The couple exchanging their rings.

Saying their vows..

After the ceremony, as usual it's time for more photos!

Us trying to get Kyler to look at the camera but somehow failed hahaha!

Okay nvm, we gave up and just take the group photo with him looking distracted.

More group photos with Nana's bf and Janet...

Back to the solmenization area to take photos because of the air-con.

A shot with the couple of the day :) Claire's dress is from Love Bonito!

The couple went to get some couple shots while we sat at the ROM Center to blow aircon. They came to find us after they are done and we took some group photoshoot before we head off to Fairmont Hotel for dinner.

Below are some of the group shots from the offical photographer...

We were told to do that hahaha, though we don't really know what the photographer was trying to achieve.

A proper group shot :)

Brother's Wedding @ Fullerton Hotel

Yea 喜事 in my family because my brother is finally getting married. My parents can finally stop worrying over this!*peace*

And because I've shifted out and my parents are understanding enough so they didn't make me go back for the morning ceremony. I just need to appear for the wedding lunch.

I can't believe that if I appear it will be for taking photos and then wait for him to fetch the bride back and take photos again before we set off to the hotel. I'm not a guy so I'm not suppose to help open car door or whatsoever. And it's not my wedding, so I no need to pray to the ancestor. Anyway, I'm thankful for such understanding parents :):)

Even though I no need to get up that early like 6am or so, but I did wake up quite early to get myself ready!

A #selfie with the natural lights in my new place :)

To my horror, I didn't bring my eye linear to my new place hence I make do with whatever I have.

难得打扮 hence I took tons of #ootd worthy photos.

Derp took this when I wasn't ready.

A back view #ootd of the dress. Love the back detail of the dress :)

We cab down to Fullerton Hotel and was kind of late because it doesn't seems to have any cab in sight.

Reached there and we saw this Rolls Royce Car.

It was a auspicious date for wedding so there's many nice wedding cars around. It just so happen that this car was rented by a not-so-close coli who's having his wedding banquet at Fullerton too. Met some colis while I was waiting for cab home.

A photo with the "F1 Car" which was located right infront of us when we enter Fullerton Hotel.

It wasn't my first time attending events at Fullerton, the first time was for my NTU's Graduates Evening aka Graduation Night.  It was like 3 years back so we have a hard time finding the ballroom which my brother is having his wedding.

I didn't know that there's a small room next to the grandballroom at the basement. I kept thinking that there's only the grandballroom at the basement and nothing else. At the end, his wedding is at the right hand corner of the basement. I only find out after calling my parents for a few times to ask where is it. We tried exploring around but couldn't find it.

After finding my parents, I went in to talk to my relatives (Some of which whom I've not seen for a long time) before I head out of the room for more photo taking since the tea ceremony/wedding lunch has not started yet.

Taken by brother's friend who just happen to be going somewhere haha!

Another #OOTD worthy shot. Dress from MGPLabel and necklace from Cojayn

The tea ceremony.

A family portrait for once taken by brother's friend after the tea ceremony.

The menu.

I was quite disappointed with the food. If it was my wedding, I will probably be quite piss off because out of the 8 dishes, only 1-2 of them can make it. I understand it's a auspicious date hence standard might drop, but some dish really cannot make it. I don't remember eating such bad food when I attend my graduation night. Everything was cold and pretty tasteless.

The first march in...

2nd march in outfit.

Everything ended before 3pm since it was a 5 tables affair. Time to bid goodbye to my parents whom I've not met for 2 weeks or so due to my busy schedule..

Last photo with the pillars of my life :)

Now that the wedding is over, I'm glad that they can stop worrying about this and that. Before the wedding, everyone was so stress up with the packing of the house, guo da li and etc. Parents are always so 伟大! I do hope they are more relax for my actual day, and I will try my best to see to most of the stuffs :)

And this was the first wedding I attended in September, I'll blog about another one soon!

Noodle Place @ Orchard Gateway

Derp and I went to settle our wedding banquet venue after work a few weekends back. We finally paid the deposit and booked the place :) Seems like that's the start of yet another busy year ahead!

#OOTD - Navy Cropped Top and White Midi Skirt from Eternity Loft. Reviews are up here :)

I finally owned my first ever midi skirt. Pardon for the grainy photo because I think Derp didn't press focus before taking this photo.

We went to Genki Sushi again but this time round, their queue was super long :(

As usual, we were rushing for time and need to meet our hotel coordinator after our dinner. We gave up our spot after queueing for 10 minutes realizing that the queue isn't moving at all. So much of a coincidence we saw hui lin and her husband, so we gave our spot to them and make a move :)

We went down and saw Noodle Place's queue wasn't that long so we join in to queue. In less than 10 minutes, we got our seat. We just wish to faster settle our dinner and meet the hotel coordinator.

Their menu:

They serves pretty reasonable price food.

I ordered the Shrimp Dumpling & Shrimp Wonton Noodle - $8.50

Derp ordered the Shrimp Wonton Noodle - $8.00

I personally find the servings of the noodles quite little. Guys will probably feel not full after eating this bowl of noodles. As for the taste, they taste not bad but quite average on a whole. Definitely not the best I've eaten before, but for the price it's pretty reasonable. The wonton is yummy!

The service was quite fast too, we were in a rush hence I appreciate that very much.

Our side dish - Deep Fried Pork Chop with Salt and Pepper - $14

This dish came quite long after our mains were served. It's really yummy but we conclude that it will be better to eat this with white rice.

It's a place with reasonable price Chinese cuisine, hence if you are craving for some comfort food, I will suggest this place then :)
