01/05/2015 - Off to Klang to attend #jasewedsclaire Day 1 - PremièreHotel Klang

Before I forget the details of #jasewedsclaire, I reckon I better blog it down asap! These days my memory ain't that good :p

The trip was discussed more than half a year ago and the day finally came. We booked the air ticket shortly after they confirmed their wedding date. Quickly booked it before the air tickets slowly start becoming more expensive. It's our first time taking plane to KL but I must admit, we saved quite a lot of traveling time.

It was a pretty rush trip because we only arrived the day before the wedding and left early next day after the wedding. It was also our first getaway after super long (due to our ROM and mainly new house) so I was looking forward to it (even though it's a short trip, I realize anything longer I might start to miss my home lol). To be honest, this trip came at the most apt time because we were facing some major milestones at our work. If not for this trip, I might be back working on a weekend. Sigh!

We only had time to start packing the night before! Our flight was 1:30 pm and because we don't have any luggage to check in, we need not reach the airport that early. We had some local delights at Terminal 1 (laksa and iced coffee) before we bid goodbye to Singapore.

We spotted this 'tree' photobooth at Terminal 1 and decide to take a photo before we head to the departure gate lol.

Spot our photo on the virtual tree!

This is the photo taken and it was sent to my mailbox straight.

#OOTD taken before boarding the plane.

Our #welfie before bidding goodbye to Singapore. Friends commented we have couple face lol.

It was our first time taking Air Asia flight though. Anyway, the flight time was nearly an hour. Half an hour into the flight, we were asked to buckle our seat belts and get ready for landing.

Once we landed, we had to quickly rushed to buy tickets for the shuttle bus to the hotel.

It's our first time to KILA2 and I've heard how the airport has transformed (many eateries and shopping places) over the years. And indeed, it was really big and nice to walk. We only had chance to cover the mall on the way back instead.

We brisked walk most of the time(after we pass the custom) because our shuttle bus will depart from the airport at 3pm. We landed around 2.20pm though lol. If we were to miss the shuttle bus, the next shuttle bus will be at 5.45pm! We might have to splurge on the cab to get to the hotel instead if we miss the shuttle. So thankfully, we managed to make it!

We asked for direction so as to reach the ticketing booth asap.

The shuttle bus counter was located at level 1. It's one level down from the arrival hall. Basically walk straight all the way and take the escalator down, you'll see the shuttle bus counters. They are not really prominent though.

Bus tickets bought and we are off to our hotel in Klang!

The bus journey is around 45 minutes and the bus leave on the dot. So do board early. I realized the bus company offers various shuttle bus to different hotels. A cheaper option as compare to taking cab/train to your desired place.

When we reached the hotel lobby, we spotted Claire there. We catch up a little before checking in. Thanks Clairey for booking this hotel for us :) It's apparently one of the better hotel in Klang area.

Complimentary drinks from the hotel.

Though the room is a little small, but it was good enough. It comes with free wifi so we are contented hehe! We didn't buy any data plan sim card since it's only a short trip.

We settled down and rest awhile before heading to Tesco (just next to the hotel) to grab some stuffs from the supermarket.

The view from the hotel lobby. (Spot the Tesco building there)

They have full heights windows at every level of the lobby and you can totally see the whole Klang from there haha! That's because the hotel is the tallest building at that area.

We did some shopping (bought cup noodles, chips and also gatecrash stuff lol) at the supermarket and felt hungry after that. Since we had no idea what time the rest will reached the hotel (they took a later flight annd they missed the shuttle bus!), we decide to have 'early-dinner' first.

Their KFC menu which is slightly different from Singapore.

It's good that they have the 1-piece chicken meal in their menu. Singapore's KFC should have it too.

We ordered the 2 piece butter garlic crunch chicken meal to share. I ordered a large mash potato (It is not in the meal) after looking at how small piece the chicken were.

The chicken was not bad but Derp find it so-so because it's not spicy. For me, it's yummy but I find the portion a little small.

We don't really dare stay too long outside because no one can contact us while we are out due to no wifi. We went back after an hour and the rest of them arrived shortly after.

View of the hotel while walking back from Tesco.

In the hotel lift lobby! We were otw to the 'gatecrash' hotel room to pass them the gatecrash items.

At around 7pm, Claire and Jase arranged for their friends/siblings to come fetch us to Jase's place for dinner.

The hotel is really near to Jase's house, probably a 10 minutes car ride. The dinner was an eye opener for most of us because they can simply set up a 'tent' outside their private house without getting complain. There's not a need to seek approval from authorities and neighbors will understand there's an event going on at your place.

So these were set up outside Jase's house.

There were cars driving to this area and realize there's a road block so they automatically make a u-turn and park elsewhere.

The dinner buffet catering to welcome guests attending the wedding.

So this is what I got. Not really hungry since we just ate KFC like 1 hour ago lol.

The bee hoon taste completely different from the ones in Singapore. Really yummy and if you are wondering what's wrap in the pandan leaves, it's grilled chicken meat and taste really good!

I think we look tired after a long day of travelling here and there.

Anyway, there was only soya bean option for the drink which we find quite unmatchy.

All of us spotted the ice kachang machine before we had our dinner. This got us really excited.

You can let her know what toppings you would like to have.

We requested for the default ice kachang since we had no preference.

Another couple pic of us..

With the another couple on this trip..

It's a pity YY couldn't make it at the really last minute so it's just the 3 of us.

At around 9pm, Claire brief all the bridesmaid regarding the very next day schedule and the to-do list.

Jase's brother in law send us back to the hotel after the briefing but in the end he drop us off at Tesco because my dear friends have not been there yet.

All of us did some quick shopping before heading back. We were really tired by then. But somehow after washing up, Derp and I got the mood to eat supper. Haha!

We started prepping the cup noodles which we bought and I start to open my beer to go along with it. #fatdieme

Really shiok supper even though it was late and I had to wake up really early the very next day for gate crash. The beer definitely helped me to sleep faster and better lol.

Night view from the hotel room :)

That's all for Day 1 of #jasewedsclaire. Be back soon to update the rest of the trip. Stay tuned!

Claire's Hens Night Part II - Brotzeit @ Raffles City Shopping Centre

Back to update part II of Claire's Hens Night!

And so our surprise for her came before leaving Funan Mall. She least expected the bride-to-be sash and bride's veil to still be around (we last use it on Esther in 2013 and she kept it really well since then) so Claire got really surprise when Esther took it out hahaha!

All 'dressed' up and ready to walk the street.

Group Shot :)

We walk our way to Brotzeit @ Raffles City Shopping Centre. We came to realise we actually took the long way unknowingly. Opps! Oh well it was a Monday night hence there wasn't much crowd in town.

A random shot along the street with the bride-to-be :)

We reached Brotzeit and it's booze time! It's been quite sometime since I stepped into this place and have a drink. Used to frequent it really often few years ago. It is still my favourite booze place of all time (because it's easier to get seats there as compare to Timbre)

The same old drink that I order every single time I'm there.

We ordered potato wedges to share. Very sinful but yummy because they only fried it when you have place your order. Hence, it's piping hot!

With my favourite booze buddy lol. We used to roam all these places together so often (A weekly/ fortnightly affair) in the past.

The last group shot of the night~

Even though it was a Monday Night, but we beat those monday blues by chilling out and talking so much about our life and etc. Definitely one of the best way to start the week!

Claire's Hens Night Part I - Old Street Bak Kut Teh @ Funan DigitaLife Mall

I finally meet up with the girls to celebrate Claire's Hens night! We have been delaying the meetup for quite sometime due to our busy schedules.

Part 1 of the Hens night is to have dinner together. At first, we don't have any idea what to have for dinner yet but we eventually settled down at Old Street Bak Kut Teh @ Funan DigitaLife Mall.

It's my first time eating Old Street Bak Kut Teh and I found out they actually have quite a few branches around Singapore.

Each table has this Ipad for you to order your food.  I'm quite surprise to see this at a Bak Kut Teh shop.

The open concept kitchen.

They have all kinds of sauces for you to take to match with your Bak Kut Teh. I've always thought Bak Kut Teh only goes with dark soya sauce and red chilli. Never did I know there's so many other sauces to go with. This is definitely something which cannot be found at other Bak Kut Teh restaurants.

Our feast that night!

Bak Kut Teh! The soup is refillable just like any other Bak Kut Teh restaurants.

Dough Fritters aka You Tiao!

A plate of veggies to be shared among us.

Before we start to eat..

Our group shot outside the restaurant lol.

I personally still prefer Song Fa Bak Kut Teh and Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh as I find their soup better than Old Street Bak Kut Teh. I like those bak kut teh soup which is more peppery!

We didn't make Claire wear the bride's veil and bride-to-be sash because we find it not matchy with where we are dining at. The surprise for her came after we left the dinner venue. Will blog about that soon :)
