Wing Zone @ Century Square

We hardly go to far places on Sunday but this time round we hop over to Tampines area. We went back to visit Derp's mum in the late afternoon before meeting our wedding's emcee in the evening.

Yay to another thing being checked off the to-do list for wedding :) More things to go but step by step, we'll get there.

We hardly dine around Tampines area because our usual hang out is only around Derp's Mum's place. There were many new eateries popping around the central area, many which we did not see before.

At first we wanted to try Chicken Up but the queue was way too long. We were quite famished by then so we did not queue for it.

From what I know, it has opened for quite sometime but the queue on a Sunday's evening is still very long. We gave it a miss and decide to have out dinner at this place call Wing Zone located at Century Square.

They have lots of flavors for their chicken.

The menu.

They do have a variety of chicken types, ranging from wings, tenders, drum sticks and grilled burgers. You can have it ala-carte or a meal completed with their sides (rice/fries) and drinks.

There's this big screen playing videos for their customers to watch while eating.

We were told that our orders will only be ready in 15-20 minutes time as they only cook the chicken upon ordering.

I ordered the Garlic Pram 6 pieces boneless chicken. It was suppose to taste slightly spicy but I totally can't taste it at all.

On a side note, I do love their wedges alot! Very sinful I know because it's carbs, but it's really good.

Derp ordered the 4 piece tenders meal. He chose the buffalo bliss for the chicken flavour. We were quite disappointed to find out that one actually dip the chicken tenders into the buffalo bliss sauce.

The sauce were given separately and the chicken is not marinated with the sauce.

Overview of what we ordered.

You can spot the buffalo sauce at the bottom right hand corner of the tray.

Both of our orders were supposed to taste slightly spicy but we totally did not taste the spicy-ness at all. Servings size were more than the average than the various fast food chain and as for price wise, the price is comparable to that of Nene Chicken/Four Fingers.

Oh well, it's worth giving it a try because it's totally different from the standard korea-style chicken. Yay to another not-so long queue fast food chain which serves reasonable priced food and it's halal certified :)

Till the next review then!

9th Year Dating Anniversary Celebration - Dinner Buffet @ Triple Three (Mandarin Orchard)

Derp and I celebrated our 9th year dating anniversary in advance since it was hard for either of us to take leave on our actual annviersary day.

In fact, that whole period was hard to take leave due to work milestones but thankfully there's the long weekend for us to rest enough, do our stuffs and yet have some time for pak tor! We don't really have any plans for the anniversary celebration since we agreed on having a good meal will be suffice.

In the end, we head to our actual day wedding venue to have their buffet dinner. Can't believe our customary wedding is happening in less than half year time! Time flies and to be honest, it's like 'marrying again' haha! Just minus off the exchanging of rings and saying of vows.

The familiar place we once step in while we were checking out venue for our wedding banquet. They were the only one we went to actually haha.

A #OOTD taken outside Triple Three restaurant.

Their daily specials and that day was Monday, so it was a crabby affair!

We were greeted by their desserts section once we step in. It got us really excited :)

Spot the chocolate fondue!

Really pretty mini cakes which made me want to try all of them.

The main lead of the night - Crabs.

There were also the smoked salmon, smoked ham and smoked beef.

Spotted some cook food too but we were actually quite disappointed as there's not many of them.

The salad bar was quite extensive.

The first food which I will always go for whenever I go for international buffets.

And the next will be defintely salad to ease the guilt.

Took some cooked salmon meat, beef and also chicken breast. They were all very freshly cooked.

Chawanmushi which looks slightly different from the usual ones. It tasted not bad too.

The Teppanyaki food which were cooked on the spot by the chef.

We didn't have too much of the crabs but instead, we only took this amount.

I took some fresh prawns and also sashimi again lol. They provide wet towel for all their guests so you can go ahead and just use your hands to eat the crabs/prawns.

Since it was crabby night, their chef also cooked chilli crab! We only noticed it towards the end of our meal. Even though we were quite full, but I made Derp queue for it haha!

This is actually 1 person portion so the chef gave him 1 bun. Derp requested for a extra bun since we were sharing the crab :) I've always love the bun for chilli crab especially when dipped into the sauce, even if without I do find it nice too!

It's time for the long awaited dessert after we were done with the chilli crab.

This were what I took after walking through the dessert section. Had a hard time deciding what to get as I was quite full by then.

There were various fruit flavours for the ice pop and they were really really really good. I chose the Mango flavour while Derp has the Calamansi flavour ice pop.

I'm thinking if it was made by them because I could taste the freshness of the fruit inside the pop. The texture of the ice pop was really smooth and it taste exactly like the fruit itself! It definitely doesn't taste like those ice pop we usually had.

Derp having his dessert..

Happy me and the mini ice pop.

The restaurant then served us this complimentary cake for our anniversary celebration :)

The mandatory shot for a anniversary celebration.

A #welfie before we left the hotel.

Overall, the food was good but the variety of the buffet dinner was quite disappointing.

The only section which we were satisfed with was the dessert section. Other than that, we find the variety quite little as compared to other hotel's buffet. There wasn't any rice, just some noodles.
In short, there wasn't that many cooked food in general to fill your stomach (especially for big eaters).

Derp was pretty unhappy when he found out they don't serve soft drinks (from those soft drinks dispenser)  for their buffets. and one can of soft drink easily cost us nearly $10 hence we didn't go for it. #daylightrobbery

Anyway, thumbs up for their service as they were really attentive and cleared our plate/refilled our water quickly.

The next time we are going back will be for our wedding prep and food tasting! Crossing fingers that it will be good :)

03/05/2015 - Off to Klang to attend #jasewedsclaire Day 3 - Flying Back to Singapore, Exploring KILA 2 (Ramen Ten @ KILA 2)

The 3 days 2 nights trip pass by in a flash and the next moment I know, I'm heading back to Singapore! It has to be my most pack (in terms of schedule) getaway ever.

On the last day, we got up pretty early to catch the 9;30am bus to the airport. Our flight was 12+pm and we will reach Singapore around 1+pm.

Morning #selfie while on shuttle bus to the airport.

#welfie before dozing of on the bus.

It was yet another 45 minutes ride to the airport.

Arriving at KILA 2

We had around an hour plus before boarding the plane. We managed to do some last minute shopping (didn't had the time to do so when we landed on Day 1 as we were rushing for our shuttle bus to the hotel back then) and bought some goodies home. Not many but just a few of it.

There were lots of food choices but we ended up at this restaurant call Ramen Ten for our lunch. It's a halal certified ramen restaurant which you can find it in Singapore too.

The menu

I ordered the Spicy Chicken Karaage Ramen - RM$24.15

Derp ordered the Spicy Salmon Ramen - RM $30.55

The portion was really huge (I didn't encounter such big bowl of ramen in Singapore before) and there was lots of ingredients inside. Even though it doesn't taste like those authentic Jap ramen, but the ramen were really spicy!

I gave up eating my spicy chicken karaage ramen as I couldn't take the spicy-ness. Derp's ramen was slightly less spicy so we exchange to eat in the end haha!

The price was affordable but doubt I will eat this brand of Ramen in Singapore as there's so many Ramen restaurant which I've yet to try yet.

Ramen Ten @ KILA2
Lot & No: L2-22A
Operation Hours: 24 Hours

And so that marks the end of my 3 days 2 nights in Klang.

Really thankful to Jase and Claire for the hospitality throughout the trip (from booking of the hotel and transporting us around)!

It was my first time attending a overseas wedding. I guess it will be my last too haha! Afterall, how often do we have relatives holding their wedding overseas (unless they have different nationality spouses) right?

A really memorable and unforgettable trip, seeing my close friend getting married to her best friend, first overseas trip with the girls and so on! Alright that's all for the last installment of #jasewedsclaire and it's less than a month to yet another getaway with Derp. Looking forward!

Sengkang West Zone K RC 1st Anniversary cum RC Center Offical Opening

Derp and I attended our first ever neighborhood event (after moving in for nearly a year lol).

For the past 1 year, the RC member have made huge efforts to hold many events so as to bond this community together. However, we did not take part in it. Either the time clashes or we find it not that interesting. Opps!

This time round, the RC members went door to door to promote this event. We didn't buy the tickets on the spot but however we went back to the CC the very next day to get it. Since it falls on the long weekend, why not? :)

It was an event to mark the opening of the RC centre, with a ongoing flea market and also mural painting (done by the residents) for the soon to open Sengkang General Hospital.

The event started from 9.30am but we only went down around 11am. We started walking around to see what's going on. We had a chance to step into the newly opened RC centre. Basically nothing much and it's exactly the same as what I could imagine.

They were gathering feedbacks from the resident so as to know what are the demands. But somehow they aim those who have young kids or senior citizens. Sad to say, I always feel that we are the "forgotten" group of residents lol.

The mural paining that was going on. These paintings will be put up in the hospital when it opened.

We had a chance to walk around and saw the on going flea markets under the HDB blocks. I almost book a stall to sell my preloved but all the stalls were snatched up pretty quickly.

We went back to the main area for the lucky draw at 12pm. There were 10 prizes but there were 500 tickets. So I will say, the chances are pretty slim haha!

Our MP giving out the first prize (which was suppose to be a air fryer)

Even though we didn't win anything, it was quite fun to join in!

There were catered food for everyone who purchase the ticket.

There were fruit tarts too.

Everything taste good because I was famished by then. They only allow the food to be serve after the whole event.

Say Hi to my coli's baby boy. I call it his armswag :) So cute!

Didn't expect to see him there though but I know he stay just few blocks away from me.

Before his flat were ready, he moved into his wife's parent's place after they got married. His in-laws's block is actually where Derp's Uncle's provision shop resides at haha! He actually patronize Derp's Uncle's provision shop very often lol.

Few years back, we actually met each other there during one of the cny gathering. He was returning home while I was having reunion lunch with Derp's relatives.

The world is really very small indeed.

Okay pardon for the side track, we were given this goodie bag for attending this event.

The quality of the trolley is actually quite bad. But the things inside weren't too bad. There's cream crackers and etc.

To be honest, this event wasn't that bad but I do hope they have events that catered to those 'forgotten' residents in time to come.

Even though we focus most of our time on work, we need to know that we are not 'forgotten', even if it means asking us to give feedbacks on the facilities/living condition around the new neighbourhood.

I do hope to see more events coming up and something like this which will attract us to participate :)
