11th Dating Anniversary Celebration @ Lime (Parkroyal on Pickering)

Pardon for the big hiatus and I didn't realize I had not update this space since end of October.

Traveled on my birthday in November, completed my last few races of the year, busy meeting up with friends and etc hence I MIA-ed from this space for awhile.

Hopefully I can catch up on those backlogs since I will be having a good 10 days break before 2018 arrives :) The thought of 2018 arriving is dreadful but I can only tell myself to embrace it and press on.

So roughly half year back, Derp and I celebrated our 11th year dating anniversary. It was a belated one as both of us were busy with our work commitment so we postponed it for a week.

Just taking it as a day off from work to relax and chill before we get back to the daily grind.

#OOTD for the special day.

We decide to head to Lime @ Parkroyal Pickering for it's buffet mainly because of it's Matcha fondue. I mean how often do we see a Matcha fondue right? The most common ones are still the Chocolate fondue. Not forgetting, the review of the food was good so we decide to give it a try.

Arriving at Lime restaurant.

The iconic Matcha Fondue was the first to great us upon entering the restaurant.

The desserts section was right at the front..

The salad bar and cheese section

Just one part of the food area..

This was only round one of the food that we took.

I didn't took much photos of the food as I was busy eating haha! So pardon for the lack of photos..

There's always room for desserts at a buffet because one simply can't give them a miss no matter how full we may feel.

They do have interesting ice cream flavors.

I had a shot at the Chilli Raspberry flavour one and I do think it taste pretty interesting. It doesn't taste bad/weird at all but in fact, it actually blends really well lol.

The highlight of the buffet has got to be this marshmallow soaked in the Matcha fondue. So yummy! A must try for the Matcha lovers :)

Happy 11th Dating Anniversary :)

Glad that we took a day off to spend quality time together despite our busy work commitments. A day well spend together.

Brunch @ Knots Cafe & Living

Knots Cafe and Living is soon becoming one of my most frequent cafe these days.

It's not easy to find a cafe to suit both Derp and my taste bud but this cafe is by far the only one we both are okay to go back there again and again .I've lost count of the number of times we've went there for brunch/lunch.

Love the ambiance of the cafe and not forgetting the yummy and affordable food. There's free wifi provided for the customers too so basically it's a nice place to chill.

Knots Cafe and Living is made up of 2 storey.

The cafe space is really big and there's seating spaces on both levels. This picture was taken on the 2nd level. There's tables catered for couples and also for big groups visiting the cafe.

Since it was free seating, we actually roamed around the whole cafe first to take a look at the decoration and furniture before ordering our food. FYI, all the furniture in the cafe are for sale :)

The menu for their Main course.

The beverage and desserts menu

There were cakes on sale just next to the counter. I spot my favorite rainbow cake but I didn't get them though.

More pics of the cafe below..

They also sell fresh flowers :)

Various plants up for grab too at the cafe.

We went there for late lunch on our first trip there and here's what we ordered..

Macaroni and Cheese - $8.90, Carbonara - $11.90

Both mains were yummy and of affordable price.

The main reason (other than checking out their furniture and home decor items) we went there is this..

Matcha Waffle with Ice Cream - $12.50

It's our first time having Matcha Waffle and we love everything Matcha :) The ice cream we chose was salted caramel ice cream with chocolate sauce.

Overall, the food was good which was the main reason we kept going back there for brunch/lunch whenever we are in that vicinity :) Food was served to us quickly after we have ordered so there's nothing much to complain about!

We went back there again not long later  but this time round was for brunch...

Very filling brunch and it cost $30+ for all of this. Totally worth it!

Highly recommend one to give this cafe a try if you are in that area :)

Day Trip to JB: KTM Train to JB Sentral, Tokyo Secret Cheese Tarts

Derp and I took an impromptu trip across the borders few months ago to run some errands.

We decide to take the KTM train instead of the usual bus because the review for the train was good.

It cost slightly more expensive than taking public bus but it was all worth it to skip the jam :) Save lots of time too!

Prior to the trip, we purchased our tickets online from here. Tickets were sold out really fast so it's all about faster finger first and plan your trip way in advance!

We arrived at the train station 1/2 hour before the departure time. It was recommended to arrive early because we have to exchange our 'print out' tickets for the actual ticket before boarding.

Queue was expected at the ticket counter as there were people purchasing their tickets on the spot too.

Exchange our print out tickets for this tickets given to us at the ticket counter.

We took a short walk to cross the custom and in no time, we were seated in the train to wait for the train to move.

A #welfie of us in our virgin train ride to JB Sentral.

The train didn't depart on 12pm 'sharp' though and I remember it only depart around 12:15pm or so. People were still making their way to the train after the scheduled depature time.

Guess we were the kiasu ones who boarded the train real early because we were really afraid to miss the train haha!

It was the most a maximum of 5 minutes train ride to reach JB Sentral and we were totally impressed by how fast and fuss free it was. We sat on comfortable seats all the way and reached JB Sentral in the fastest possible way. Totally understand why the train tickets were snap up so quickly everytime!

Once the train reached JB Sentral, there's not a need to scan/chop passport again so one can head straight to their destination. We head to City Square Mall straight which is a short walk located away from the train station. Much nearer compare to coming from the bus station.

We decide dine in at Kurotomon Ramen Sumitaki for our lunch. Other than ordering their ramen, we also ordered their BBQ Sotong/Squid.

Taste good though but we will definitely prefer Sambal Sotong instead of just BBQ Sotong.

I've reviewed the ramen before previously at here so I shall not go into it :)

We went to run our errands right after our lunch and before leaving. we went to have high tea/dessert at Miyakori Cafe. I've previously reviewed this cafe before too and you may read more about it here.

Matcha Latte and Matcha Azuki Cake :)

Around 4pm or so, we decide to make our way to the train station once again. There's already a queuing forming for the train. We went to exchange our 'print out' once again before joining the queue at around 4:30pm or so.

Tickets back to Singapore.

If you've noticed, it's RM5 dollars for the return tickets back to Singapore whereas it's SGD5 dollars for the tickets to JB Sentral.  So it cost less than SGD7 dollars in total.

Waiting for our train to depart to Singapore.

As usual, it didn't depart on time at 5pm. Probably delay for another 10-15 mins or so. We cleared the custom very swiftly too and we were out of the train station by 5:30pm!

Bought back cheese tarts from Tokyo Secret from JB City Square Mall to give it a try...

Due to poor handling by us, some of the cheese tarts crust has already fell off. Opps! But they still taste as good. They have other flavour of cheese tarts like Matcha and Chocolate so it was kind of refreshing and definitely yummy!

No regrets buying them back though because they were cheaper than the cheese tarts sold here in Singapore :)

Tokyo Secret
Lot MS-03, Level 4, Johor Bahru City Square
106-108, Jalan Wong Ah Fook

That's all about my short trip to JB City Square. We will definitely opt for train ride to JB in the near future because it save so much time as compare to taking bus/driving in :)

Tsum Tsum Event @ Plaza Singapura

So I've been a Tsum Tsum fan for quite sometime especially since I start playing the game. Last year's Valentine day was also everything Tsum Tsum.

I was so excited when there's this Tsum Tsum event ongoing in Singapore for a period of time. Decide to check them out but our main purpose was to go get the Tsum Tsum lanyard.

Anyway, the event was held at Plaza Singapura. Other shopping malls has it too but we decide to go to the one at Plaza Singapura because it seems to have the most Tsum Tsum's merchandise and more photo worthy spots.

Tsum Tsum event @ the Atrium of Plaza Singapura

The 'entrance' to the event.

Trying hard to take a photo with this because there's way too many people around haha.

Tsum Tsum game.

Many people queuing to play this machine but I give it a miss. One token for this isn't cheap at all and actually many arcade have this game.

More Tsum Tsum spotted around the place..

Chip and Dale at the front, Stitch and Donald at the back.

Mickey and Minnie :)

They have nice backdrops for phototaking too...

:)

They are really cute hehe! So I can't help but to take photo with every tsum available there haha.

#welfie shot

One more with the word Tsum Tsum lol.

Derp chose the Chip and Dale to take photo with. Probably because his top can blend in well with the backdrop haha.

This center piece is the main attraction of the event.

Many people around so it was hard to take a proper photo too.

The reason why we go town on a Sunday afternoon lol.

I did bought a small water bottle because of the purchase with purchase deal and that's all I bought from the event.

A #OOTD with the really cute Tsum Tsum :)

It was not easy to take a photo without people photo-boming/walking in front of the camera, so actually I stayed at that position for quite sometime in order to get the perfect photo.

Totally not shy when come to declaring my love for Tsum Tsum!

That's all for now and I hope such events will come back to Singapore once again with more Tsum Tsum and also merchandise for sales.

Valentine's Day Celebration 2017

This year we separated the Valentine's Day celebration and Wedding Anniversary celebration because we will be overseas on the Wedding Anniversary day itself. So looking forward to it and with that we decide to have a simple Valentine's Day celebration this year.

Rainbow baby breadth from Derp :)

I've been wanting one since ages ago so I'm glad Derp bought it for me on this special occasion.

This bouquet is very photo worthy hehe.

#welfie before we go out for our early Valentine's Day dinner.

Took the bouquet out with me for more photos if not it will be very wasted haha.

#OOTD

1 more shot with the pretty bouquet of baby breadth.

We reserved in advance a table for 2 at Saveur @ Cathay for our Valentine's Day dinner. I have been to the other branch of Saveur and I find the food pretty affordable so I recommended Derp to go there for our celebration.

So that's what we were there for, their Valentine's Day set dinner for 2 :)

Here's what was in the set dinner..

2 Mocktails

Apparently it's some lavender fuzzy drink which taste pretty refreshing.

\
Saveur Pasta

This is one dish which I always order when I'm there

French Onion Soup

For our mains, we both ordered the Duck Confit.

This is definitely their signature main dish. I had it the other time I'm there and it still taste as good!

Yummy Duck Confit for both of us.

Both of us ate finished it and by then we were actually quite full. But there's still desserts for us (part of the dinner set).

If I never remember wrongly, they served us the Tiramisu Cake which comes with a macaron.

We were way too full to finish both our cakes though. The Valentine's Day dinner set cost $59.90 (before gst) for 2 which we find it pretty affordable with the amount of food we were given. Total worth our money and it was an enjoyable experience.

Daily 12pm -9.30pm

We went for a impromptu movie session after our dinner before heading home. One of those rare #saturdate whereby we hang out late in town to reminisce the good old dating days :)

It's just like any other day but what most important is spending quality time with each other. And that's something which I always think couple should be working towards to.

Looking forward to many more years of Valentine's day with Derp!
