Chinese New Year 2017 Part 2

Continue-ing from the previous CNY post, I'm back to update the remaining of the CNY celebration :) 

After all the feasting on CNY eve, the feasting continues! 

#OOTD for Day 1 of CNY. 

Probably the most important day of the lunar Chinese New Year because it's the very first day of the lunar new year. Yay to a new beginning :)

Went back to my parents' place to 'luo hei' first before fetching the family members out for cny visiting :) 

A pic with my niece who turned 2 years old on Day 1 of CNY :) Am glad that she's not that afraid of me but she's actually very shy one haha.

After the cny visiting, it's back to my parents' place for another round of feasting haha. 

Home cook food by Dad :)

I've always forward to home cook food by him because it's never fails to disappoint me! Yummy food as always :)

Back to my cousin's house for 2nd round of 'gaming' with the kids. They were really excited the whole night. I guess it's also a rare day for them to get together with their own cousins after all they don't normally meet that often too.

That's us playing with them still wide awake even though it'a already late night haha.  

Day 2 of CNY was rest day for us. Finally a proper rest because we have been out since CNY eve.

We have steamboat in our cosy home for dinner that night. Trying to utilize the steamboat machine to the max haha!  

We were out again on CNY Day 3. It was a steamboat gathering with Derp's extended family.

Simple outfit that day. Just wanted to wear something comfy haha! So it's back to my tsum tsum top lol.

All the food for the steamboat. This is only the first of many rounds. We had it for lunch and then for late dinner too.

Afterwhich, it's time for the yearly affair to 'gamble' on CNY.

This pretty much sums up my CNY Celebration for 2017. 

We are actually another 6-7 months till the next CNY celebration. Time files and as usual looking forward to it even though it means growing old once again. 

But oh well, such gathering with family members are always memorable and priceless.

X'mas 2016 Celebration

X'mas 2016 was a simple affair for us. We have had home parties in 2014 and in 2015. So time to take a break from hosting it at our house :) Hence, X'mas 2016 was held at Derp's brother's place instead, which is also in the North Eastern part of Singapore.

On X'mas eve, it was raining heavily especially in the evening. There were flash floods at various areas in Singapore. I'm gladful we are not spending time in town or squeezing with the crowd, but rather spending time with our family members. 

Derp decide to bring our own bean bag to his brother's place.

Nope we did not eat any snacks in the end haha! The pizza and xmas cake were more than enough for us :)

And so we started the Xmas exchange shortly after some gaming right after our dinner.

We had Brown joining us for Xmas celebration hehe.

The Brown bear has brought lots of entertainment for us that night. He's super nice to touch even though he's really heavy haha! 

We hanged out till really late that night, reached home at 2am and finally on bed by 3am haha! It was many rounds of playing till it's late then we made a move lol. Thankfully there's no work the very next day and it's a long weekend.

SIL send us a photo of Brown with the nerf gun which Derp's bought it for the gift exchange and his brother was the one who was picked up this gift. Seems like the toy is for Brown instead? lol.

That's all for X'mas 2016. Instead of squeezing with the crowd at town area, we are happy to spend time gathering with our family members because family comes before anything else :)  

AONE Claypot House @ Jurong Point

I've once blogged about AONE Claypot House @ Jurong Point 2 years ago when it was just opened. 

Just lately, I went back to dine in there with my mum for our usual Friday dinner date. Decide to blog about them again because their menu has change from the first time I've dined in there. (p/s: that includes the price too!lol) 

They do still have their famous claypot frog leg porridge and etc but we decide to go for something else instead.

We ordered the Claypot Luffa with Prawns and Beancurd. 

$16.90 for this Claypot Luffa with Prawns and Beancurd.

Though the price is quite steep, they are really generous with the ingredients they used. It was actually a little too much for my mum and me.

We also ordered the "Chai Po" Omelette. 

I realised that I've also ordered this dish when I went there the very first time and it only costs $5-$6 back then! Sad to say, the price has almost doubled over the years.

A meal like this simply costs us $40++ for just the 2 of us. I find the standard is pretty much the same as compared to when I first eat it few years back. But the price of the items in the menu has definitely gone up quite a lot over the years. Doubt I will be going back there for any meals anymore due to the steep pricing this days.

Lee's Taiwaness @ Star Vista

An impromptu date with my Mum on one of the random Saturdays after I was done with running errands. 

I was busy prepping to welcome a large group of people for the 3rd house warming, hence the whole month of October I was damn busy. It was till the extend I did not go home for a month of so.  

I managed to squeeze time out to meet my mum for a short dinner. Dad was lazy to come out because it was raining so Mum came alone. 

We met at bunoa vista because my mum has not been there. I planned to treat my mum to canton paradise but the queue was too long. In the end we settled our dinner at Lee's Taiwaness. I had it once with my gfs when Star Vista just opened. I only remembered the food was average and the price of the food were affordable.

We had our dinner near 8pm so the place was actually quite empty. On a side note, they were very short handed. The waiter took quite sometime to clear my table and handed me the menu. There were still many tables which were not cleared too. 

Here's what I ordered to share with my mum:

Pig Intestines and Meatball Mee Sua - $10

Pork Chop Rice - $12

I love both dishes as much. They were generous with the ingredients in the mee sua. My mum commented that it's soft enough for her to chew.

The pork chop rice reminded me of the ricebox I had during my taiwan trip last year. All the 小菜 that comes with the pork chop tasted really yummy! 

I also ordered their milktea and as expected, it's too sweet for my liking. Oh well, I don't really dare tell them I wish to have my milktea at 50% sugar afterall they are not bubbletea shop lol. 

Defintely a place for you to satisfy your taiwan food craving, other than that don't pin too high hopes because they serves pretty average taiwan food. Good enough to be on par with the authentic taiwan food.
