One Piece Run 2016

My first run of 2016 was a fun run and it's none other than the One Piece Run 2016. Feels good to kick start the year with a casual run to get the year going!

I was so excited when I first knew this run is coming to Singapore and signed up together with Derp without second thoughts. Derp introduced me this anime back then when we were dating and yup I got hooked to it.

Though I've stop watching the anime for quite sometime (and should probably go back to chase it since I'm free-er nowadays), at the very least I think I've known enough about the story line to call myself a One Piece fan.

Race Pack Collection

Race pack collection was held at Orchard Central. The whole race pack collection was a breeze because there wasn't any queue when we reached.

Since there wasn't any queue, we took the chance to take photos first before collecting the race pack because we don't wish to carry the race pack around with us.

With my favourite Chopper

Saw many guys #welfie with this big poster.

I guess it's a good photo spot.

The race day event site map.

The race route.

All of them were nicely decorated and printed :)

Asked a kind soul to help us snap a picture of us for keepsake purpose.

After the collection, we walked around to see the merchandise. We did have thoughts on getting some of them but in the end we didn't because those 'nicer ones' have already been sold out since the start of the race pack collection.

What's in the race pack..

Frankly speaking nothing much and in the first place, I didn't expect much from them too because fun run are always expensive and the race pack doesn't come with much freebies.

One Piece Run 2016

On race day, we reached the race site pretty early as the race start before 8am.

Lots of one piece fans have gathered

While walking to the start pen..

Waiting for flag off with the beautiful sunrise as the background

After the flag off, the first station we passed by was Fish-Man Island.

Mermaid spotted and probably lots of guys too queuing to take photo with them.

Basically at every station, you may take photos with the backdrop and etc but there's a long queue at every station. We merely stop there for a few mins and then move on quickly because we don't think there's any photo-worthy factor in it.

Cosplayers spotted lol. Totally apt for Fshman Island.

Next we passed by Dressrosa.

Really crowded so we quickly moved away if there's chance.

Stuck at a bottleneck and saw this young one piece fan(or perhaps not?) haha! So cute :)

As usual lots of spots for you to take photo..

Last but not least, Punk Hazard.

We came to the Burning Land first.

And then the Ice Land next.

Taking a #welfie before we come to the end of the race.

When we reached the finishing line, my runkeeper show the distance to be 4km. It was suppose to be a 5km race. No idea why is that so unless they counted the effort for climbing up and down the stairs.

With the pretty medal.

I believe most of our race fees have gone to making this medal haha.

With the iconic Thousand Sunny

Okay it's hard to take photo showing no people at the background

The best photo I could take for Derp because runners came flooding in after they have completed the race.

Our first race together with our long time Maple friends who happen to be one piece fans too.

The race route wasn't that ideal because it's full of climbing up and down the stairs, and looping outside indoor stadium area. However, I guess it's not easy to find a space in Singapore to hold this run with different themes as it requires much space.

We didn't really participate in any post race activities because it was long queue everywhere. No idea if they will hold it again in 2017 and if that's the case, I hope it will be a more enjoyable race with more fringe activities to cater to the crowd. Not forgetting, a better race route in the next race!

Last but not least..

2 more medals added to our One Piece collection :)

Valentine's Day Celebration @ Hungry Heroes

We had a belated valentine's day cum 2nd wedding anniversary celebration after the CNY period mainly because many places jet up their price during the festive season. In my opinion, it's totally not worth it so we had a belated celebration instead.

#OOTD for the celebration - Got this Hollyhoque's midi dress from a reseller on Carousell

Before we head to the dinner venue, we went to collect the One Piece Run's race pack, Shall blog about that the next time round.

Anyway. we decided on Hungry Heroes for our valentine's day cum wedding anniversary celebration. Ran out of ideas and not a fan of buffet so here we are, dropping by at a superheroes theme cafe :) yay to another cafe off the bucket list.

Reservation can be made through Chope and I'll highly recommend it because this cafe can get fully booked from time to time. So it's better to make reservation before heading down to avoid disappointment.

The cafe is of walking distance from Farrer Park MRT.

Derp standing right outside the cafe haha.

Was greeted with lots of super heroes figurines upon entering the cafe

Many more figurines and they all belong to the owner of the cafe. It made us wonder how long did he took to collect so many of them.

The cafe's counter (spot the huge figurines behind)

Very interesting table mat haha! Or should I say 'news article'.

The menu.

Without much thinking, we ordered the Nice To Meet You platter. After ordering, we started to roam around the cafe to take more photos while waiting for the food to be served.

More displays at level 1

Totally 'wow' upon seeing this

Our drinks came before we head up to the 2nd level to see more of the display. Can't really remember what we order though haha.

Upon climbing up the stairs to level 2, this interesting lights were spotted. It is made up with lots of superheroes. This is probably one of the highlights of the cafe.

More figurines/displays spotted on level 2..

This is cute :)

Captain America, Thor and Iron Man :)

This is the view from the 2nd level whereby you can see the huge display. It looked almost like the actual size to me haha! But perhaps slightly smaller than the actual size if I were to compare it with those who acted as these super heroes in the movies.

You can totally imagine how big they are judging from us posing with it.

After we were done taking photos, we head back down to level 1 to wait for our main course. It's a pity we didn't sit at level 2 because it's definitely much more cosy and the ambiance is better.

I can't really remember how long we waited for the food to be served but it wasn't a long wait after all the walking around to take pictures.

Nice To Meet You - $62

We chose the brown sauce and cajun mayo to go with our platter.

Before digging in..

From this angle, you can see the huge portion of meat and also fries that were served haha!

All the different meats were really good, there's pork ribs, beef sirloin (we requested for medium-well), de-boned chicken leg and pulled pork.

A #welfie of us.

The staff were busy hence we didn't ask them to help us take photo.

Derp and I couldn't finish the meat platter and we were feeling really full when we left. Perhaps 4 ladies can share a meat platter even though it's recommended for 2-3 pax.

Overall, the experience was a great and memorable one. The food was good and even though it cost $62 for a meat platter but the portion was really huge hence I will say it is value for money.
