This post came a little late because my new house renovation have completed! :):) For other posts about my new house renovation you may click here.
I won't be showing the final looks of the new house till after my house warming, but all this blog posts are just the progress of it. I just want to blog it down as memories and also to share tips that I come across with throughout the whole renovation.
Week 2 of renovation started with meeting the carpenter to discuss the carpentry works and also we went down to get lights with our ID. :)
We took half day and have lunch before going up to the new house for the meeting. The workers were working on the false ceiling and also false partitions around the house.
The false ceiling where the cove lights will be be placed..
The false ceiling was up within half a day. I last visit the house on Sunday afternoon and then we went up again on Monday lunch time, it was almost done already! O.O!
We had a near 1 hour chat with the carpenter to discuss about the carpentry dimension, laminates we have chosen and etc. Some minor adjustments to some of the measurements as recommended by the carpenter, other than that everything is good.
We did our homework for example all the various measurements and size of the build in cupboards we would like and how much space are left. Our ID drew up the detailed drawings for the carpenter base on our measurements. This was done so just in case any of the build in cupboards are too big and there isn't much space left. We try to get involve as much as we can and not fully rely on our ID because human do make mistake.
We have been hearing much compliments from those who came to our house, saying that the house look like a 5 room flat. *sense of satisfaction*
After the discussion, our ID's boss drove us back to our ID's office area for lights shopping!
We went to Sipario Gallery to view some bathroom accessories and also lights. They do have a wide range of bathroom accessories but we find them too pricey. A normal towel holder can easily costs up to near $100. But sooner or later, we realised that it's the 'normal' price in Singapore. We rather get it from tao bao then. Tao bao rocks!
We bought the various 4 small square leds lights for the toilets and bathroom, a rather pricey lighs for the kitchen and also spot lights for our shoe cabinet. I think that's all we buy from them and that few lights easily costs us more than $500 bucks.
We can't really find other suitable lights in the shop, but yet we don't want to be compromise to something which is not ideal hence we intend to go to other shops to source for it :) We went to a total of 4 shops in Singapore just to get all the lights/ceiling fan for the whole house, not counting tao bao as one of our source.
Some pretty lights in Sipario.
This mushroom wall lights does suit our theme, but we didn't get it in the end.
The overall service by Sipario was not bad though I think their items are on the pricey side. Our hob and hood for the kitchen was also bought from them.
I do remember when my electrician wanted to install a led lights bought from them on a Saturday, one of the led light was missing a mounting bracket. I called my ID and she contacted Spiario, less than 1/2 hour the mounting bracket was delivered to us. So much for the after-sales service :)

Our ID actually wanted to bring us to another lights shop but I was too tired and it was getting late. We called it a day and we slowly source for the other lights ourselves. Feel bad to keep bothering our ID too haha!
That weekend, we went back to check on the house and the painting was done! We also met the air-con guy to discuss about air-con piping. That one is also another big knowledge.
We think of ways to minimize the piping that can be seen because they are big and ugly #fact. At the very least, I requested my painter to come back to touch up all the painting once everything is done. :)
Our #ootd that day with our favourite colors in the new house! Guess you won't believe what we are up to haha!
With his favourite blue.
With my favourite pink.
He have been telling me his blue is soooo much nicer than my pink. I can only conclude he's just being bias!
Some pictures of the house after the false ceiling and painting was done...
Alright. that's all for now! Be back soon with more renovation updates! Stay tuned :)
