The first race of 2017 was a fun run :)
Feels good to be starting the year with a fun run to get the year going haha!
Getting hooked onto Pokemon Go was a hit last year and I remember clearly how addicted I was to the game. So joining the race was not surprise even though the race is expensive. However, the entitlements ain't that bad afterall.
It's more like paying for the race experience/ambience more than anything else.
Race pack collection was held at Bugis Plus.
#OOTD to the racepack collection.
The race pack collection venue.
It was beautifully decorated with all the Pokemon related stuffs at the race pack collection venue.
So cute!
Race pack collection was done quickly. We had the chance to take photos with this beautiful backdrop.
So happy with my snorlax race pack haha!
What's in the racepack :)
Actually, there isn't anything much. Other than the race t-shirt and pokemon towel which looks really cute!
On race day, the sun was soaring high up in the sky simply because the race doesn't starts early. There were various waves for the race and we were in one of the last few. I think when we finally get flagged off, the time is already close to 9am?
While waiting for flag off...
Shielding ourselves from the hot sun with the towel. If not we will probably be sun burn!
Almost our turn to get flag off after the massive human jam towards the starting line..
This kid race tee is really cute. It is so much cuter/nicer than the adult version.
It was a 4km run rather than a 5km fun run. The route was shorter than promised and we ran/walked all the way. Probably walked most of the route as no people were really running as the weather was way no mercy!
We had to collect the "Poke Ball" along the way. It was part of the race pack for us but we were only allow to collect it on race day itself.
Can totally tell they did put in some effort for the race to make it more interesting.
Yay to reaching the finishing line which means finally can hide ourselves from the sun.
The stage for performance thereafter.
There were booths selling Pokemon related merchandise but the queue was very long. So we didn't queue for it and left the race venue after taking some photos.
With our first medal of 2017.
The medal is so cute. That's actually the main reason why we join the race.
Derp with his medal and also the pokemon towel lol.
My finisher picture
Because I think that carrying the Pokemon towel throughout the race (which I never do so before at any races ) will makes the after race photo turn out nicer :)
Spot the Pikachu mascot before we left. There were a really long queue for it.
I'm glad I took picture with the mascot on my birthday celebration last year. Only need to take it once and is #achievementunlocked
Ending this post with the picture I chose to post on instagram..
My TV buddy with the finishing medal and 'pokeball' :) So cute!
That's all for my race review for the Pokemon Run Singapore 2017. I truly believe it's a once in a lifetime experience so no regrets joining it. There probably won't be another one so I'm glad I joined the race this year!
It is already half way into 2017, and I've completed 3 races till date.
Shall write more about them as we go along. That's all for now. Till the next race review then :)
Pokemon was such a phenonmenon, i am really impressed when certain brands, characters or other works get so popular. Anyway, this is a nice post. I like it.
