Taiwan Trip Day 4 Part 1 - 03/06/2013 (Sun Moon Lake 日月潭., Wen Wu Temple 文武廟, Nan Tou 南投)

I'm finally on my Taiwan Day 4 entry! It's not easy recalling but I try my very best to finish up all the entries asap :)

After one night stay at a 民宿 and soaking ourselves with hotspring water, We woke up to this beautiful view from our room.

Feel so refreshing  to wake up to such pretty view.

Okay, I really appreciate our clear sky now after a week of haze. #sghaze.

Head down for our breakfast.

SAM_0720
As many times as I've exclaimed, I love teo chew style porridge :)

Took a walk back to our room to do some final packing after our breakkie before leaving our 民宿. I'll definitely miss this place. Love the serenity of the place. Took some photos on the way back.

Spotted this grasshopper(Which I think in this case it's a grasshopper) outside our room. That's what I meant by able to hear all types of noises made by the insects at the 民宿 area

Bidding goodbye to our 民宿, We head over to Sun Moon Lake aka 日月潭. Another famous tourists attraction for tourists. We were there for a cruise ride around the Sun Moon Lake whereby the locals there will intro us to the origin of the Sun Moon Lake

Sun Moon Lake(日月潭)

The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area is praised for its five major recreational systems, including the lake, Shueili River, Puli, Jhuoshuei River and Jiji. The surrounding areas stretch to cover known tourist spots including Taumi, Checheng, Jiji, Shueisheda Mountain, Sangyong Falls, Mingtan Reservoir and Shueili River.

Divided by Lalu Island, the Sun Moon Lake scenic area got its name from the unique terrains that look like sun on one side and crescent moon on the other. Crowned as one of the Eight Wonders of Taiwan, Sun Moon Lake is also the most famous source of hydroelectric power; offering key tourist themes - “high mountain and lake”, “indigenous culture”, and ”nature ecology,” the Sun Moon Lake Scenic Area attracts more than six million visits each year.

Derp's pointing out to ask me look at something but I'm busy snapping photos lol.

SAM_0746

SAM_0748
It's really windy on the yatch.

SAM_0750
If I never remember wrongly, there used to be this owl on this small little plot of island in the middle of Sun Moon Lake. Women of the village would touch the owl to conceive a baby asap.

The electronic dams.

SAM_0764
The fishing net. Everyday at a particular time, the net would be lowered to catch fishes.

SAM_0768
The Wen Wu Temple which We went up at the later of the day.

SAM_0766
This little land stay the 邵族 aboriginal Taiwan people. They have a very little population, probably around 1000 to 2000 people staying there.

SAM_0771
Unique looking boat which We think will be use to welcome president/ministers of other countries.

SAM_0775
Paranormal view of Sun Moon Lake from Wen Wu Temple.

Entrance of Wen Wu Temple.

Wen Wu Temple

Located in the town of Puli in Central Taiwan is the Wen Wu Temple which is a Taoist temple dedicated to Confucius and Kuan Kung, the red-faced god of war. It is a temple of martial and literary arts.

Bells purchase by tourists to write their prayer on the wind catching paper and hang it there.

If you've watch red cliff and know who is cao cao, guan yu and etc, yup this crafted stone is related to the story back then. They are so nicely crafted.

This fake soldier scare the shit out me. lol.

I didn't really notice he's a living human until he scare me all of a sudden. And He know I'm taking his photo, hence that's the pose. He was asking us for money using his hand signal if not he won't let us take photo. Seriously, zzz.

SAM_0788
With the dragon turtle.

SAM_0789
They are well known to carry heavy stones with words crafted on it. And yup, auspicious animal.

Sun Moon Lake is famous for their grandma's 茶叶蛋. There's really one ah ma selling it. Don't buy the wrong one. Our tour guide bought 2 each for everyone. I gobble it down swiftly but regretted it because it's lunch next!

We had our lunch at this 南投 bus station. It's a stop over station for vehicles, consists of air conditioned food court and super market :)

SAM_0798

Saw this cute dog sitting just infront of me with the owner. Btw, all the Taiwan dogs are freakingly well-tamed. They don't anyhow lick people/bark/excited easily. Taiwan people don't leash their dogs and usually carry their dogs on hand or let them scroll around. It's as good as their own child but ya if only a human child is as easy to tame too. lol.

SAM_0800

He or maybe She can just sit there and wait for the owner to buy food and come back. The owner is not the one in the photo lol. That's the owner girlfriend. The owner fed him with some food but the dog rejected. lol. Seriously, why so guai one, can just sit there and stone. lol. I also want a dog like this!

SAM_0801
The paging system. This device will ring when your food is ready.

SAM_0802

I had the beef braised noodle. Can't really finish it but I must say the side dish is awesome. lol.

SAM_0803
Derp had his ramen.

I've wanted to share 1 main course with Derp but he refused. -_-". He had a hard time finishing his noodles, but yup I gave up after probably 5 mouth of my noodles. Seriously his logic is :"Have to eat main course so that will feel more full" But We already had 2 herbal eggs each half an hour before our lunch.

SAM_0804
Trying very hard to finish lol.

SAM_0806
Saw this sobert type of mochi at there. Wanted to ta bao to munch on it later on but decided not to.

I'll be back with part 2 soon :)
