One of the Friday night, we decide to have a impromptu date night to Kovan area for their famous Thai Food. I guess we can't wait till our yearly BKK trip to fulfill our cravings haha.
But anyway, it's not the first time I dined in at Nakhon Kitchen. The first time I had it was at the Bedok's branch and it was very crowded during lunch time. Heard that during dinner time, you also will be expected to queue for long. No doubt, the Kovan's branch has a long queue forming outside the restaurant when we reached,
We waited for nearly half hour before getting a table on a Friday night. Even though it was already 8++pm, there's still a long queue outside the restaurant.
Btw, they are just located next to the where the famous Hatter Street was. So you probably can head for some yummy waffle ice cream after your thai food dinner.
Very convenient indeed :)
The menu.
Every item is affordable and definitely not those markup price authentic Thai Food.
We ordered our food even before we got our seats so that they can faster serve us the food once we gotten a seat in the restaurant.
Even their soft drinks are from Thailand!
Stir Fried Minced Pork with Hot Basil Leaves - $8
Disappointed that they weren't spicy at all but sweet instead. Was expecting it to be a spicy dish.
1 kg of lala - $10
This was a promotional item (not in their menu). For 1 kg of lala, it's really a lot but very yummy as all the meat was thick and juicy. Totally worth it for $10.
Seafood Tom Yum Soup (Clear) - $6
This is legit and the main reason we are here for. Affordable and authentic tom yum soup! We love tom yum soup that are clear base :) However, the soup is not as spicy as the ones from Thai Express though.
#flatlay of our dinner
The total bill cost of our bill was less than $30. Worth it because I feel we did over order for 2 person haha! So if you are looking for affordable thai food, I will think Nakhon Kitchen is a good choice and they have several branches in Singapore :)
