X'mas 2016 Celebration

X'mas 2016 was a simple affair for us. We have had home parties in 2014 and in 2015. So time to take a break from hosting it at our house :) Hence, X'mas 2016 was held at Derp's brother's place instead, which is also in the North Eastern part of Singapore.

On X'mas eve, it was raining heavily especially in the evening. There were flash floods at various areas in Singapore. I'm gladful we are not spending time in town or squeezing with the crowd, but rather spending time with our family members.

Derp decide to bring our own bean bag to his brother's place.

All the food that evening.

Nope we did not eat any snacks in the end haha! The pizza and xmas cake were more than enough for us :)

Pretty Xmas Tart (not cake) from Paris Baguette

Comes with the pretty box too. No idea why we lit up the candle also haha!

All the presents for the Xmas exchange placed under the Xmas tree.

And so we started the Xmas exchange shortly after some gaming right after our dinner.

This was us before opening our presents.

We took more photos before eating the cake too.

We had Brown joining us for Xmas celebration hehe.

A close up shot of us.

The Brown bear has brought lots of entertainment for us that night. He's super nice to touch even though he's really heavy haha!

We hanged out till really late that night, reached home at 2am and finally on bed by 3am haha! It was many rounds of playing till it's late then we made a move lol. Thankfully there's no work the very next day and it's a long weekend.

Love breaks like such to the max :)

Ending of this post with this cute and hilarious photo..

SIL send us a photo of Brown with the nerf gun which Derp's bought it for the gift exchange and his brother was the one who was picked up this gift. Seems like the toy is for Brown instead? lol.

That's all for X'mas 2016. Instead of squeezing with the crowd at town area, we are happy to spend time gathering with our family members because family comes before anything else :)

Xmas 2015 Celebration

Another year has whiz past and it's Xmas celebration once again.

It's our 2nd year celebrating Xmas in the house. The very first thing we did after the wedding is to get the Xmas decorations up because it's less than a month to Xmas.

Hello Xmas Tree! We meet again :)

I always find it a joy decorating the tree despite having to standby a vacuum cleaner to pick up strands of fake leaves from the Xmas tree.

And this year, we added in the fake snow frost decoration. A little DIY going on there to get the festive mood up. Great sense of achievement even though the whole process created quite a mess lol!

On Xmas Eve, we had a simple home prepared feast with bil and sil.

#onthetable - Roasted Black Pepper Beef (Bought from NTUC, all we need is to heat up), salad, spaghetti with tomato puree sauce(filled with mushrooms) and some cheese cubes.

A #welfie before dining in.

We also opened a bottle of Wolf Blass's Mosacto on this special occasion.

After the Xmas dinner, we played Wii since it's been awhile we 'touched' the Wii.

Before the night ends, we had our dessert which is the Xmas cake. If you noticed, I didn't use the word logcake because it's not in a log shape but however a round shape.

Xmas Cake done by Sugar by J

My only requirement was that it should look Instagram worthy haha! And indeed it's a cute cake with xmas feel. Btw, they were the ones doing up the dessert table for my wedding too. Will share more on the blog when I get down to blog on the actual day wedding.

And so we squeeze in for a #welfie again but this time round with the xmas cake and tree haha!

Just as we were enjoying the cake, we thought we could preserve the Santa Clause made of fondant but it started to melt :( And so I went to consult Claire & Jase (Owners of Sugar by J, also my real life friends) why it happened and that's because it's too moist hence the Santa Clause start falling apart :(

The aftermath of the Xmas Celebration. It look like he's being murdered by us opps! haha!

This pretty sums up my Xmas 2015 celebration. Gone were the days of squeezing with the crowd and counting down, spending time at home with family members is much preferred these days :)

Xmas Home Party 2014

#throwback to Xmas 2014 when I had my first xmas party at the new home!

It was a fun filled night with yummy food, gifts exchange, log cake and alcohol. This group of Derp's friends have been with him since the good old army days, helped him out in his proposal and also attended our ROM. And the soon to be customary wedding!

They have witnessed our major life events and now our housewarming cum xmas party. Our first xmas party was held on the weekend before Xmas.

This is the red wine and white wine we bought prior to the event.

All of us finished the bottle of red wine that night because it was oh-so-good (one of the better ones I drink to date, easily beat those I drink at weddings). Derp and I settled the white wine on the actual xmas eve and new year eve. I'm so gonna hunt down the red wine again :)

On the xmas party day, we went to had our lunch and also to get a log cake for the event. A Christmas party is not complete without log cake!

I started prepping to air fry the fries and also nuggets 1/2 hour before the expected arriving time of the guests. But most of them were late!

My cajun fries.

I bought the cajun spice (in a bottle form) on the day itself to test it out. It's really yummy and I've been making cajun fries since then. It taste good even without having to dip chilli sauce.

The spread of food on the table.

Derp ordered 100 pieces of chicken wing/dumlets Four Fingers from Food Panda. They were prompt in delivery and it arrived half an hour earlier (Derp ordered the food in advance and gave them instructions to deliver at a specific time). As expected at every housewarming (after having 5 housewarmings), we hardly have any guests that are on time.

The chicken wings/drumlets got quite soggy by the time most of the guests were here.

Derp and I decided to throw it into the airfryer and re-fry it to see if it's crispy again. After putting it into the airfryer for 8 mins or so, it did turned out better. In the end we send in batch by batch to re-cook the chicken wings/drumlets. Those who were came even later (close to 10pm) were the lucky ones!

Another food pic!

The xmas tree at our house is finally filled with presents :)

The guys chilling around our room with full blast air con before the gifts exchange session. I do admit that night was quite hot!

The exchange present session started quite late and it started because one of them has to leave soon.

Derp is the first one who star the ball rolling

All the gifts after unwrapping! You can spot some really lame stuff there lol.

And it's time for logcake :)

We were deciding between this red velvet cake or the traditional log cake and they are priced the same. But we eventually settled on this as we hardly get to eat red velvet cake :) The decoration is very cute too.

2 of them left first and the party continue till midnight. We drank Bailey's Hazelnut which doesn't look like alcohol at all. It looked exactly like milktea lol. We also ate Pat and Stick's sandwich ice cream which were bought by 1 of them. It's soooo nice and everyone had different flavour. There were some leftover for us to slowly indulge in it hehe.

So so nice but it's really expensive! $6.90 each and it's only sold at Providore.

One of the leftover ice cream flavour were the Peppermint Chocolate Chip and this has got to be the nicest peppermint ice cream I ever ate. I'm never a fan of peppermint but this is probably the only one I accept till date.

The aftermath of the party.

Last photo of this entry has defintely got to be this..

A group picture with everyone!

I'm definitely more than willing to organize a xmas gathering again for this great bunch of friends.

Not sure we will be jetting off to our honeymoon at the end of the year, but even if that's the case I still hope to organise a early xmas meetup with the same group of people again :) More than okay to do all this before the arrival of additional family member!

Afterall it's your own place, and friends can just chill out till late as long everyone is happy.

Next event happening at the new place has got to be CNY :) Have already start prepping for it because it's offically less than a month from now. Looking forward to it!

Preparation for Christmas 2014

Derp and I have been hunting down a Christmas tree since mid November and we eventually bought one 4ft Christmas tree from NTUC.

At first, we wanted to buy it from Metro, but either it was too small or too big and in terms of price. it's much more expensive than what's sold in NTUC. What's more the small trees come with all the decoration ornaments which we don't really like. We want to buy our own deco and hang it up ourselves :)

It's more meaningful that way and this will mean every year I will have excuse to get new deco haha! Christmas has never been so fun before for the past 26 years.

The very bare tree when we just set up.

Though I haven't think of whether there's space to keep it in my store room, but nvm just enjoy first lol. *Cross fingers there will be space*

When Derp's on ICT, I went to Japan Home to see the LED lighting. It cost less than 15 bucks for a 300 LED Lights. I consulted the sales person to ask  how many LED lights should I buy for my 4ft tree, since there's 200 and 300.

The sales person told me it's good to get more LED lights  rather than lesser, because if the LED lights are not long enough to wrap around the tree it will be quite ugly (Some parts of the tree have lights, some part don't!) . I decided on getting the 300 LED lights and there's many modes to it (all conrolled by a small controller attached to it). All of them look so pretty! The very most one need to do is to go around the tree again and again if the lights are more than enough.

I went home that day and set it all up myself. #trustmeiamanengineer I went round the tree almost twice because of the excess number of LEDs. I'm quite happy with the final results though :)

I wanted to surprise Derp when he's back from ICT so I did it all by myself. I still remember the day he came back, I was out for a jog and he messaged me "the tree so chio" lol.

Xmas tree lighted up on 1st of December.

Some of the ornaments we bought...

A pair of snowman from Japan Home

A pair of Reindeer from Japan Home.

We bought a total of 2 packets of these colorful balls from Japan Home. 1 packet contains 6 balls.

The little present which I found at Japan Home @ Seletar Mall. Bought a packet of silver and gold presents, 1 packet contains 4 presents.

This is from Japan Home @ Seletar Mall too. One packet contains 2 of these "Merry Christmas" signage.

We were on the hunt for the big Star to put on top of the tree so we went to Daiso @ Rivervall Mall.

However, to no avail, we still couldn't find it and simply find an alternative to it.

The donut looking shape wreath is from Daiso. It doesn't comes with the Merry Xmas signage and we has 2 (used 1 for the tree) so another 1 should go here. All ready to welcome our guests for Christmas party!

We have seen many of our neighbors decorating their doors too. The Christmas atmosphere is kind of there even though the place is still new.

Final look of the tree! No star so we make do with a xmas hat then.

Not forgetting a #OOTD with the xmas tree the other day. It seems to be a good ootd spot! I should just decorate that area with some other stuffs after xmas/cny.

Now that the house is all ready, I'm looking forward to the christmas gathering this weekend! Lots of feasting going on this festive seasons and a need to work extra hard to maintain the waist line. A viscous cycle indeed but afterall it's only once a year. So enjoy it while it lasts :)

Xmas 2012 - Seoul Yummy, Charlotte Grace

Okay i know xmas is long over! Nearly 1 month! But i'm still gonna blog about it!

Gotten my xmas nails done at the same place as i did my gelish nails! Beauty Bar - Jurong Point! I did normal classic manicure this time cause i want my nails to have a break after 2 rounds of gelish nails! Super hurting to my nails! Till date i've let it rest for more than 1 month before i go do gelish for cny + bestie wedding! haha! Have booked jenny and she gonna help me do it! :) Last year she did a fabulous job for me!

Xmas feel~

Every year my company would have movie events during xmas period! This year was on xmas eve! We have to report to Lido by 9:30am to watch Hobbit! Am surprised that this movie is actually not that bad! And its a triology! Will defintely catch the next one :)

Organized a xmas lunch + gift exchange for all of us after the movie event! We went to seoul yummy at central! Been wanting to try it but i tell hazel we would go after her wedding lol! We even strategize that 3 of us share one army stew, which is LQ, hazel and me! I'm glad that i only ate the ingredient rather than the noodle and rice that day! Its super filling lor!

We ordered the meat army stew whereas cq and lester ate the seafood one! But we did exchange our 'liao' la. lol.

Seriously look damn big lol!

Finally have our army stew!! Hazel crave for it for months!

Oh ya, i went to personalized a calendar for the lucky one who get my present! In the end, lq got it! :). I put the person face at the top if its their birthday month! Even baby emme is involved lol!

The cover!

Ta dah! Thats me! I'm Ms November! LOL!

I've gotten something from JJ during the gift exchange! It was a mini vaccum for desks, keyboard and etc! He's been wanting me to get it so that he can use also! End up i really get it. But its really quite useful la, the auntie in current office dont vaccum that often. :S

After the xmas lunch, i went to toa payoh to collect my xmas cupcakes from Charlotte Grace! I personally prefer flat top cupcakes which have fondant instead of cream cause is less fattening. Who in the world eat fondant one?? is meant to scrape away and its super easy to come out haha! If is cream, i think it would be quite messy right? lol.

Chio xmas cupcakes at $3 each!

Btw charlotte grace got very good customer service cause i requested for 3 vanilla and 3 chocolate, plus they ask me for which design i would like to have on my cupcakes, i only manage to choose 5 and ask them to put in whatever design that matches with the rest for the last one! I'm can be a ma fan customer at time but they still accomodate me lol! I was even late to go down to their shop and faster email them! They do reply their emails very promptly :)

Check out their facebook page here and their website here for more details! :)

On xmas night, i went out with boy for dinner at JP! Just a simple dinner makes me happy enough cause i satisfy my craving! lol. We went to have dinner at Fish and Co in JP!

Merry xmas all~

:)

We ordered the above 2 mains to share. meaning i will eat half of everything of the prawns and he will eat half of everything of the salmon before we switch haha! I was telling him "we need to share out the cholestrol cause by the prawns and not forgetting the calories!"

Me with the bear! Everytime when i pass by this bear on my way home i always think is cute. there's even a smaller one somewhere else in JP!

#OOTD - Suzy Crochet Lace Dress - Deep Plum from Eternity Loft! Love this piece so much and i'm wearing it to work quite often :)

Another pic of me in the dress!

With my boy! :) Merry xmas!!
