Chops Grill & Sides @ Ang Mo Kio

A quick and short update about this western food eatery in the heartland mall area where I had lunch with my colleagues not long ago.

It's located near to our workplace hence we decides to give it a try after reading the reviews online.

The eatery is none other than Chops Grill & Sides @ Ang Mo Kio.

The menu...

And so we are here for the Chops! XXL Platter

Basically, the XXL platter comes with 10 side dishes and all the different types of meat and it cost us $59.90.

All the different kinds of meat. 1 of the meat went OOS so they gave us 2 of the same type then.

The 10 types of side dish

Actually, I do came to realize the way they presented their food makes it unappealing at all.

A much better looking presentation of the food

The portion may look huge in the photo but in my own opinion, the platter is best shared with 4 person instead of the recommended 6-8 person.

The 6 of us (3 man and 3 ladies) shared the platter and I personally felt that the guys did not feel full after eating this though. I myself find the portion just nice too and definitely not to the extend of 'too much'.

The quality and taste of the food is somewhat comparable to Astons or other western stalls around but what makes it unique will be the idea of having this platter to let consumers try the various types of food offered by them :)

That's all about my review about Chops Grill & Sides! It will definitely be in my option for affordable western food when I'm in that vicinity.

Tsum Tsum Event @ Plaza Singapura

So I've been a Tsum Tsum fan for quite sometime especially since I start playing the game. Last year's Valentine day was also everything Tsum Tsum.

I was so excited when there's this Tsum Tsum event ongoing in Singapore for a period of time. Decide to check them out but our main purpose was to go get the Tsum Tsum lanyard.

Anyway, the event was held at Plaza Singapura. Other shopping malls has it too but we decide to go to the one at Plaza Singapura because it seems to have the most Tsum Tsum's merchandise and more photo worthy spots.

The 'entrance' to the event.

Trying hard to take a photo with this because there's way too many people around haha.

Tsum Tsum game.

Many people queuing to play this machine but I give it a miss. One token for this isn't cheap at all and actually many arcade have this game.

More Tsum Tsum spotted around the place..

Chip and Dale at the front, Stitch and Donald at the back.

Mickey and Minnie :)

They have nice backdrops for phototaking too...

:)

They are really cute hehe! So I can't help but to take photo with every tsum available there haha.

#welfie shot

One more with the word Tsum Tsum lol.

Derp chose the Chip and Dale to take photo with. Probably because his top can blend in well with the backdrop haha.

This center piece is the main attraction of the event.

Many people around so it was hard to take a proper photo too.

The reason why we go town on a Sunday afternoon lol.

I did bought a small water bottle because of the purchase with purchase deal and that's all I bought from the event.

A #OOTD with the really cute Tsum Tsum :)

It was not easy to take a photo without people photo-boming/walking in front of the camera, so actually I stayed at that position for quite sometime in order to get the perfect photo.

Totally not shy when come to declaring my love for Tsum Tsum!

That's all for now and I hope such events will come back to Singapore once again with more Tsum Tsum and also merchandise for sales.

2XU Compression Run 2017

It's my 3rd consecutive year joining the 2XU Compression Run.

2XU Compression Run has soon became my mandatory races because of the attractive loyalty rates and their nice looking running top. Not only that, the race has been well organized and provide a good running experience all these years.

The race pack collection was swift and smooth. There weren't long queues because of the many counters available during the race pack collection.

I can't remember if there's any race pack collection which was poorly organized lately as they seems to have taken in feedbacks from runners and improved a lot over the years.

In the past, it was queuing for more than half or an hour for race pack. These days, it usually rook us a maximum of 10 mins or less to collect the race pack.

This year runner's entitlement is the extra 2XU Polo Tee (on top of their running top).

I remembered last year they gave a waist pouch and previous year was a shoe bag. I'm glad that they bring back the iconic black color running top because it does looks nicer as compare to the white running singlet given last year.

Derp and I were late on race day opps! So we totally missed the official flag off.

Runners strolling to the starting line despite being late already..

Almost reaching the starting line and the sun was not up by then.

Since I was already late, might as well take the mandatory pre-race shot first before running haha! Sleepy face with half-opened eyes as usual lol.

Scenic view while running..

The route was good with sufficient water points. The weather was good that day too. Not much of a bottle neck during the race but what caught us by surprise was the human jam right after the race.

There were many booths for the HM's finisher (and they were very empty) but only a few booths for the 10km runners. Everyone was very sweaty and sticky, and of course very thirsty but yet we had to wait quite sometime before getting our drink and medal.

Hopefully they can improve on this aspect for next year.

Our finisher #welfie shot with the medal!

The post race shot :)
Last but not least, a running pic of us.

I hope the black running top will return for next year race and am looking forward to the type of freebie they will be throwing in this time round because it seems to different for every year :)

Brunch @ Wheeler's Estate

A long awaited girly brunch date with Kris aka highness at Wheeler's Estate :) I have not been to Wheeler's Yard (perhaps sometime soon) and Wheeler's Estate is so close to home! It will be a waste to not give it a try.

Part of the cafe..

Brunch Menu

As you may have noticed, the price of the food served at Wheeler's Estate is kind of pricey and on the high end.

Here's what we ordered..

Feed Me Breakfast - $26.00

Wheeler's Estate Crab Benedict - $24.0

#flatlay of our brunch that day

A #welfie before we dine in that day.

And from the pic you are able to see where all the diners sat, basically open-air type of dining with shelter.

Food from Wheeler's Estate was good but quite overpriced in my opinion. Not a place to keep going back to for brunch.

The mandatory #OOTD before leaving this instagram cafe.

Everyone has to take with this while they are here :)

One last pic with Kris before I send her home. Oh and this was the first time I drove her around :)

I had more brunch dates with her after this time round. Will be back to update again soon!

Valentine's Day Celebration 2017

This year we separated the Valentine's Day celebration and Wedding Anniversary celebration because we will be overseas on the Wedding Anniversary day itself. So looking forward to it and with that we decide to have a simple Valentine's Day celebration this year.

Rainbow baby breadth from Derp :)

I've been wanting one since ages ago so I'm glad Derp bought it for me on this special occasion.

This bouquet is very photo worthy hehe.

#welfie before we go out for our early Valentine's Day dinner.

Took the bouquet out with me for more photos if not it will be very wasted haha.

#OOTD

1 more shot with the pretty bouquet of baby breadth.

We reserved in advance a table for 2 at Saveur @ Cathay for our Valentine's Day dinner. I have been to the other branch of Saveur and I find the food pretty affordable so I recommended Derp to go there for our celebration.

So that's what we were there for, their Valentine's Day set dinner for 2 :)

Here's what was in the set dinner..

2 Mocktails

Apparently it's some lavender fuzzy drink which taste pretty refreshing.

\
Saveur Pasta

This is one dish which I always order when I'm there

French Onion Soup

For our mains, we both ordered the Duck Confit.

This is definitely their signature main dish. I had it the other time I'm there and it still taste as good!

Yummy Duck Confit for both of us.

Both of us ate finished it and by then we were actually quite full. But there's still desserts for us (part of the dinner set).

If I never remember wrongly, they served us the Tiramisu Cake which comes with a macaron.

We were way too full to finish both our cakes though. The Valentine's Day dinner set cost $59.90 (before gst) for 2 which we find it pretty affordable with the amount of food we were given. Total worth our money and it was an enjoyable experience.

We went for a impromptu movie session after our dinner before heading home. One of those rare #saturdate whereby we hang out late in town to reminisce the good old dating days :)

It's just like any other day but what most important is spending quality time with each other. And that's something which I always think couple should be working towards to.

Looking forward to many more years of Valentine's day with Derp!
