11th Dating Anniversary Celebration @ Lime (Parkroyal on Pickering)

Pardon for the big hiatus and I didn't realize I had not update this space since end of October.

Traveled on my birthday in November, completed my last few races of the year, busy meeting up with friends and etc hence I MIA-ed from this space for awhile.

Hopefully I can catch up on those backlogs since I will be having a good 10 days break before 2018 arrives :) The thought of 2018 arriving is dreadful but I can only tell myself to embrace it and press on.

So roughly half year back, Derp and I celebrated our 11th year dating anniversary. It was a belated one as both of us were busy with our work commitment so we postponed it for a week.

Just taking it as a day off from work to relax and chill before we get back to the daily grind.

#OOTD for the special day.

We decide to head to Lime @ Parkroyal Pickering for it's buffet mainly because of it's Matcha fondue. I mean how often do we see a Matcha fondue right? The most common ones are still the Chocolate fondue. Not forgetting, the review of the food was good so we decide to give it a try.

Arriving at Lime restaurant.

The iconic Matcha Fondue was the first to great us upon entering the restaurant.

The desserts section was right at the front..

The salad bar and cheese section

Just one part of the food area..

This was only round one of the food that we took.

I didn't took much photos of the food as I was busy eating haha! So pardon for the lack of photos..

There's always room for desserts at a buffet because one simply can't give them a miss no matter how full we may feel.

They do have interesting ice cream flavors.

I had a shot at the Chilli Raspberry flavour one and I do think it taste pretty interesting. It doesn't taste bad/weird at all but in fact, it actually blends really well lol.

The highlight of the buffet has got to be this marshmallow soaked in the Matcha fondue. So yummy! A must try for the Matcha lovers :)

Happy 11th Dating Anniversary :)

Glad that we took a day off to spend quality time together despite our busy work commitments. A day well spend together.

10th Anniversary Celebration @ GV Suntec Gold Class, Ultimate Crab Feast 2016 @ PARKROYAL on Beach Road

The 10th anniversary celebration was nothing fanciful. It was just another day out to spend quality time together because we have been way too busy with our driving lessons for that few months.

Totally tired and worn out every weekend so we did put in some effort to cater some time to celebrate the anniversary. It's also a good chance to stop thinking about the upcoming driving exams which happens right after the anniversary celebration. We totally need to de-stress.

Beautiful blooms on this special day.

This was actually a make up bouquet because I didn't get one on Valentine's day due to the exorbitant price. I'm fine with just a bouquet of flowers a year and the occassion doesnt really matters haha.

With the pretty flower blooms.

#welfie before we head out..

#OOTD that day. Dress & bag from Fayth and the dress has been worn to death since that day.

Headed over to Suntec for our movie date. We finally put the movie voucher to good use and it was given by my uni mate as a wedding gift. It's also our first gold class experience after dating for a decade.

However, the downside is I've to personally go down to redeem the tickets first before using them.

They should probably come up with a voucher code printed on the voucher so I can use it to book it online instead of personally going down to get the tickets. I know I should not be fussy about it but it will really saves a lot of time and trouble.

Got the vouchers exchanged for these tickets before the anniversary celebration. FYI, movie timing are only released 1 week by 1 week so I've to quickly go redeem the tickets before it's full house.

To my surprise, there's quite a lot of people who chose to watch movie in gold class theater especially for such block busters.

Our drinks for the movie.

Would appreciate if they could help top up hot water or so during the movie screening because the air con was blasting, hence my tea gets cold really fast. I was not given a lid to cover up my tea too. So in the end, I only get to drink cold tea throughout the movie.

Took some photos before the movie starts to mark our first gold class experience..

This very much reminded me of our wedding venue set up...

Derp commented he felt like a hospital patient in this photo. -_-'

:)

I didn't bring my cardigan along so the blanket was very important to me.

#welfie before the movie starts

X-Men: Apocalyse is a nice movie. Do find some ways to watch it if you have not done so. Probably one of the better X-men movies as compared to the previous few.

Doubt we will be going for anymore gold class experience unless necessary because we are fine with just the normal theaters though. Derp totally don't enjoy the 'sink in' feeling of the chair as he prefer to sit up straight. Me on the other side, had quite some fun adjusting the leg rest lol.

Overall the experience was good but could have been better if they can improve on what I've mentioned earlier in my blogpost regarding the tickets and my cold tea.

We set off to our dinner venue after the movie. It's time for a crab feast because we have been craving for crab for quite sometime.

The ultimate crab feast.

The restaurant was really crowded when we reached and we actually went to the wrong branch for the crab feast. Parkroyal has a few hotels that is having the ongoing crab buffet and we totally mixed up. We had already made reservation but ended up at the wrong place.

But anyway we just go along with it since it's troublesome to travel from place to place since both hotels offer the same crab buffet, just slightly different in price due to the promotion at the different hotels.

Enough of ranting, food pics as below.

The salad bar which I will always go first for every buffet be it breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Fruits station

Lots of fresh seafood

Where all the cooked crabs were..

Black pepper crab

Salted egg yolk crab

I definitely came here for it because of the salted egg yolk craze at that time.

The different kind of crabs I took..

#onthetable

Both of us love their black pepper crab the most.

There's also the classic Chilli Crab and the fried bun. Yummy!

Before digging in...

:)

Lots of crabs on our table haha!

Derp is doing the job for me so we need not snatch the tool to break open the crab shells. He did it for me all in one shot asI was quite lazy to do it myself too haha. Very afraid that I will make a mess everywhere.

This is crab chawanmushi.

I know one can't really tell from here but there's actually some crab meat inside. Taste wise not any different from the normal chawanmushi.

After eating down lots of crab, I decide to go around to see if there's any other crab related food which I've missed out other than crab itself.

The indian chef kindly heat up this prata for me and the prata must be one of the most crispy prata I've ever eaten before. It's so crispy! He told me to take the crab meat masala to goes with it. So I heeded his advice since I'm out to try something new and indeed, it's super yummy :)

Totally worth the calories and that's probably the only carbo I ate that night.

I took the green tea chocolate chip ice cream for dessert before we left. I was literally bursting from all the eating so I didn't took any other desserts.

The crab buffet costs us $150++. I can't remember if there's any credit card discount but I remember there is for certain credit cards and we did use it to make payment.

Apparently, the crab buffet comes back every year for a few months so do look out for them if you are a crab lover.

It's worth to give it a try as there's a wide variety of crabs and your appetite is huge. They do top up the crabs so fret not that there won't be any crab left if you are not 'fast' enough.

If you are does not have a huge appetite, you can just opt for eating crab from tze char stall and who knows it might be cheaper :) I can't taste much difference in the crabs offered by the hotel and normal tze char stall. But of course, the wide vareity offered by the hotel is a plus point and eating crabs at the hotel restaurant offers more comfort so it really depends on what you are looking for.

That's all for my review for the Ultimate Crab Feast 2016 @ Parkroyal on Beach Road.

9th Year Dating Anniversary Celebration - Dinner Buffet @ Triple Three (Mandarin Orchard)

Derp and I celebrated our 9th year dating anniversary in advance since it was hard for either of us to take leave on our actual annviersary day.

In fact, that whole period was hard to take leave due to work milestones but thankfully there's the long weekend for us to rest enough, do our stuffs and yet have some time for pak tor! We don't really have any plans for the anniversary celebration since we agreed on having a good meal will be suffice.

In the end, we head to our actual day wedding venue to have their buffet dinner. Can't believe our customary wedding is happening in less than half year time! Time flies and to be honest, it's like 'marrying again' haha! Just minus off the exchanging of rings and saying of vows.

The familiar place we once step in while we were checking out venue for our wedding banquet. They were the only one we went to actually haha.

A #OOTD taken outside Triple Three restaurant.

Their daily specials and that day was Monday, so it was a crabby affair!

We were greeted by their desserts section once we step in. It got us really excited :)

Spot the chocolate fondue!

Really pretty mini cakes which made me want to try all of them.

The main lead of the night - Crabs.

There were also the smoked salmon, smoked ham and smoked beef.

Spotted some cook food too but we were actually quite disappointed as there's not many of them.

The salad bar was quite extensive.

The first food which I will always go for whenever I go for international buffets.

And the next will be defintely salad to ease the guilt.

Took some cooked salmon meat, beef and also chicken breast. They were all very freshly cooked.

Chawanmushi which looks slightly different from the usual ones. It tasted not bad too.

The Teppanyaki food which were cooked on the spot by the chef.

We didn't have too much of the crabs but instead, we only took this amount.

I took some fresh prawns and also sashimi again lol. They provide wet towel for all their guests so you can go ahead and just use your hands to eat the crabs/prawns.

Since it was crabby night, their chef also cooked chilli crab! We only noticed it towards the end of our meal. Even though we were quite full, but I made Derp queue for it haha!

This is actually 1 person portion so the chef gave him 1 bun. Derp requested for a extra bun since we were sharing the crab :) I've always love the bun for chilli crab especially when dipped into the sauce, even if without I do find it nice too!

It's time for the long awaited dessert after we were done with the chilli crab.

This were what I took after walking through the dessert section. Had a hard time deciding what to get as I was quite full by then.

There were various fruit flavours for the ice pop and they were really really really good. I chose the Mango flavour while Derp has the Calamansi flavour ice pop.

I'm thinking if it was made by them because I could taste the freshness of the fruit inside the pop. The texture of the ice pop was really smooth and it taste exactly like the fruit itself! It definitely doesn't taste like those ice pop we usually had.

Derp having his dessert..

Happy me and the mini ice pop.

\

The restaurant then served us this complimentary cake for our anniversary celebration :)

The mandatory shot for a anniversary celebration.

A #welfie before we left the hotel.

Overall, the food was good but the variety of the buffet dinner was quite disappointing.

The only section which we were satisfed with was the dessert section. Other than that, we find the variety quite little as compared to other hotel's buffet. There wasn't any rice, just some noodles.
In short, there wasn't that many cooked food in general to fill your stomach (especially for big eaters).

Derp was pretty unhappy when he found out they don't serve soft drinks (from those soft drinks dispenser)  for their buffets. and one can of soft drink easily cost us nearly $10 hence we didn't go for it. #daylightrobbery

Anyway, thumbs up for their service as they were really attentive and cleared our plate/refilled our water quickly.

The next time we are going back will be for our wedding prep and food tasting! Crossing fingers that it will be good :)
