Kyler's 1st Birthday Party!

It's Kyler's 1 year old birthday party 2 weeks back. Gosh he was only that small when we visited him when he was a newborn and now he's 1 year old already. Time flies and his birthday just reminded all of us that we are 1 year older too. :S

He has started to stand and making small steps :) On his actual birthday, he started to walk more on his own. Yea another new milestone for him.

The birthday party was held at Esther's in laws place at Bedok. I went for my usual exercise lesson and bring a lot of barangs barangs over. Derp and I managed to stay throughout till after the cake cutting session before we rushed off to our new house to meet our electrician. Our schedules are really tight lately especially over the weekends.

Group photo :)

The lead of the day is here and he's busy digging his ears hahaha!

1 month back, Esther requested Jason to do a cake for Kyler's first birthday. She wanted a cake with Charlie on top because Kyler loves watching Charlie and the Numbers video. He's totally glued to the ipad screen when the screen plays the video.

When she told us, I went like who is Charlie? It's totally not our era thingy. I had to google for the video to see who is Charlie. Apparently, it's a famous cartoon among toddlers.

Hereby presenting to you, Charlie!

Other than Charlie, Esther requesting the cake to have cars because Kyler loves cars.

Here comes Kyler's birthday cake baked by Jason..

So cute!

Everyone was praising how beautiful the cake was :) They originally wanted to make it a three tier but because Esther's fridge doesn't have a compartment tall enough for a 3 tier hence they separated it.

Birthday boy and his cake!

Happy Family!

The flavour of the cake is a rainbow-flavoured cake. There are other kids attending the party and they totally love the cake.

I had a chance to carrry Kyler before I go. He's very okay for people to carry around as long he don't feel hot. If not, he will be really cranky.

He's engrossed in the paper plate.

One of the proper shots out of the others blurred shots..

Happy 1st birthday Kyler! May you grow up to be a healthy, cheerful boy. You are going to be a awesome big brother really soon. Must 乖乖听话! We can't wait to bring you and your sister out when you all grow up :)

23rd February 2014: ROM Photoshoot

This is probably the last post about my ROM. I'll update about house reonvation and also wedding photoshoot really soon :) Stay tuned.

I've created a tag label call "rongxianrom" so once you click on that label, it will bring you to all the others ROM blog entry. Hope that it helps to navigate to the previous post rather than me pasting the link here over and over again.

After all our guests have left, we went back to our hotel to deposit all the gifts and barang barangs before heading down for our mini photoshoot. The day is still bright though it's scorching hot, not forgetting the view around Clarke Quay is magnificent! We managed to took some photos before heading back to the hotel to have some in-room shots before we call it a day.

See our squinting eyes and you know how sunny it is that day. We can't even open our eyes fully.

Cliché close up shot with the word Clarke Quay behind.

One of my favourite shot...

This one I smile till abit fake so don't really like it haha!

A handsome dude came by and steal my heart away.

One of the hardest shot that we took because the wind cannot stop blowing in the direction of our face.

#actdemure hahaha! There's even a close up shot that was editted till I've very very smooth skin. I feel pai seh to upload anywhere hence I didn't.

Intrend shot lately..

And while doing the above, many passerby congrats us :) Clarke Quay always has a environment that's so friendly and people doesn't really give you weird stares hehe!

ROM Bouquet.

My favourite shot of myself.

The rings.

Beautiful shot of my ROM nails.

Ending this post with yet another cliché shot! We have done a somewhat similar pose for our graduation/couple shot last year.I can feel my neck almost cek tio if the photographer don't faster take.

Hakata Ippudo @ Westgate

A dinner date night with Derp like finally, after we had a busy Saturday(attending gatherings and settling new house stuff).

It's been awhile since we take a 'break' from all of the new house stuff and of cause we are free-er now since the renovation is about to come to an end in 1- 1.5 week time. It's left with the clearing up and settling of defects Finally! *pop champanges*

It's not that we are in the rush to move in, but trust me, you won't want to be stuck at handling/coordinating people for long. And when instructions wasn't clear enough, there can be a lot of redo-ing going on.

Alright enough of my rants. So Derp accompanied me to JEM's Traceyeinny to collect my new dress before we head over to Westgate to get our dinner fix.

It was pretty late like 8++pm so it isn't that crowded anymore. We settled on having Ippudo because none of us tried it before.

The chio leather menu which Derp wished to have and his name craved on his leather organizer. He told me that himself!

Their interior is pretty nice, with lots of ramen bowls around.

Derp and I wasn't that hungry so we are good with each having a ramen, hence no side dish for us.

After flipping through the menu, I decided to order the Akamaru Shinaji under the Modern Ramen section in the menu. The soup is made with specially blended miso, and also fragrant garlic oil.  I love anything that has to do with garlic because I think it will smells damn good and appetizing.
Akamaru Shinaji

I know the chilli may look scary here but fret not, it's not! It adds a little spice to the overall soup and I think it's really nice. I'm glad I never choose the boring miso soup ramen which I can get it everywhere.

Oh, you can choose the hardness of the noodle and we choose medium. It's a little hard for my liking but at the same time I don't like my noodles to be too soft. So I would rather play safe and go for medium instead of the soft.

Derp ordered the Spicy Black Ramen under the Featured Ramen section. He almost ordered spicy tonkotsu ramen but then decided on a more intereasting ramen instead.

He finds it not bad too because it's something new. But not as spicy as he think it is because he's a spicy food lover.

After I stirred my noodles, it looked like this. It doesn't look spicy at all though, maybe a little? :)

Slup!!!

I love the ramen's soup the most followed by the pork belly and egg!

Osim U-Angel

My parents recently bought the Osim U-Angel massage chair and I was in shocked when they told me that hahaha! I went like 'huh, really ah?!'.

They went in to Osim one fine day after their work thinking to just get the massager for leg only. No idea what is it call but it's the one that xiao S endorse if I'm not wrong.

At the end of the day, they purchased the Osim U-Angel instead of the leg massager because they think it's more worth it to get the body massager by topping up a bit more money.

U-Angel is endorsed by Sammi! Alright I didn't know that's the massage chair that my parents bought.

And so, I've been trying out for a week or so..

This is the controller that comes with the massage chair.

All these are the auto options, there are basically 5 types of massage: Relax, Energise, Neck & Shoulders, De-Stress and Lumbar.

My favourite is the De-Stress mode. The other modes are quite painful for me (I don't know how my dad ta han), and the lumbar mode is too soft. It's like vibrating your whole body and that's all.

After you slide down the controller, this is what you will see. All this are the manual mode. You can choose to massage selective areas and how you would like it to be :)

A #selfie taken when I'm using the massage chair hehe! I love to sit on it before I sleep because it can help me sleep better.

I would recommend buying a massage chair for your folks at home. My parents have been falling asleep very often on the massage chair which is a good thing haha! Many a times while I'm using, I also almost fall alseep. You might not get used to it in the start but eventally you will find it really good.

There'a a U-Diva which just launched not long ago. I've personally try it, it's damn shiok too :):)

Mothers' Day and Fathers' day are coming really soon, a good gift for the parents.

I shall patronise this massage chair as often as I can (especially after my marathons/exercise) before I move out!

23rd February 2014 - ROM Ceremony & Lunch @ Peony Jade Clarke Quay Restaurant

While everyone is usually nervous on their big day,I'm one who almost couldn't wake up. We woke up at 7am to get ourselves wash up before the make up artist and photographer arrives.

Around 7.45am, our room's doorbell rang and the hotel called up to inform us our MUA has arrived and she's coming up. I went like O.O because I didn't expect her to come that early! I was just about to eat my breakfast and getting my phone charged.

But anyway, she set up her stuff first while I ate my breakfast. MUA have the most amazing number of stuff in their small luggage. Once it opened up, it's fascinating! I quickly gobbled down my breakfast and Derp called to request for more chairs(because my mother's MUA is coming in too at a later time), and he went to get some water for those coming to our room.

My photographer came at around 8:30am and Derp went down to fetch my mum at 9am.

My MUA doing the magic..

My gown

His suit

Our wedding band

My wedding bouquet, love the combination of colors I chose :)

My Mum's MUA (Pearlyn) came at around 9:30am.

The room was really not big, but I'm glad that things work out well. phew!

The natural lightings in the room was really not bad, my MUA heaved a sigh of relief when I opened the curtain for her.

After my make up is done, she went on to do my hair. And trust me, she spend a lot of time on my eye make up. #woesofsingleeyelid Thankfully, I catered more than enough time for her to finish the makeup and hair styling for me without having her to rush :)

My Mum's MUA working the magic on her too..

My MUA contacted me few days before the ROM day to discuss what kind of hair style I would like to have. After doing some research,  I decided on side swept hairstyle with braids and curls.

I'm not going for bridal hair style that's fully comb up because I think it will makes me look old. I always think I don't look good when I tie my hair up though.

My MUA told me to get some small fresh flowers 1 day before the ROM and she see what she can do for me on the day. Louvre Bridal has also provided me with the hair accessories. I can only test it out and see which works well with the hair style.

With the hair accessories from Louvre Bridal...

I eventually settled on the flowers since it matches with my bouquet well :)

I went to change into my gown after the hair is settled. And the gown need much help from my MUA. Because the details of the gown are too beautiful to be missed, it has to be captured by my photographer :)

After I'm done wearing the gown, it's Derp's turn to get his make up done. Yup guys also have to make up! hahahah! Honestly speaking, he dread it alot but I must say he looks really cute with the blusher. He can't stop complaining about it though. opps!

I had my makeup touch up and also the final step, coloring the lips!

My MUA left shortly after and awhile before that, my mum's makeup is done too! We were left with some freetime before my friends arrive to collect the stuff and head over to the ROM venue to set up the place.

Derp's helping me with the earrings.

And also the heels.

I was really gek kiang because I think I can still bend to reach it, but it was a failed attempt and I gave up.

The ladies who came early to help me. Thank you so much! They set off to the ROM venue at around 10:45am. The ROM ceremony was bound to start at 11:30am.

We left the hotel at 11am and waited for my dad and brother to join us at the hotel lobby before we walked to the ROM venue.

Otw..

By right the sash of the chairs are supposed to be green, but I requested to change all to red instead.

The ring pillow provided by Peony Jade tied with our wedding bands.

Because everything is provided by Peony Jade or Louvre Bridal, there's anot a need for me to DIY any stuff! That's how lazy no effort I am. Afterall, it's just a ROM. I'm keeping it simple.

Upon reaching the ROM venue, our friends and family members are there already.

With my family..

Derp's friends.

Our JP came on time and the ceremony proceeded smoothly..

The JP has briefed us beforehand when we meet him few months back, but on the actual day, can't help but to feel nervous.

Thankfully our JP, Alex Tan, is humorous enough. That definitely ease all the tension!

Time for exchanging of rings..

Derp has fat fingers and I got to suqeeze the ring through.

:)

Signing of the cert..

With our JP, Alex Tan.

My parents, and Derp's Mum with Alex Tan.

Time for somemore photo taking before we went up to Peony Jade Restaurant to have the lunch!

With the ladies..They purposely wore pink for me haha!

Group photo :)

Thanks babe for coming though you couldn't join us for the lunch.

With Derp's friends again..

Last photo before we proceed up for the lunch.

Shortly after we were seated, the food came. The service at Peony Jade Clarke Quay was really good. The coordinator helped us to usher people up and also they start serving drinks for them. They greeted everyone with a smile. Thumbs up for their service!

Some food photos taken by my photographer, only the first and second dish haha!

Overall, the lunch is really very filling. As my table has only 8 person,we kept sending food over to Derp's friends table so that they can help us clear it. I'm already bursting by the 4th dish. The portion of food served at Peony Jade is really huge!

After the last dish, it's time for photo taking again before our guests start to leave.

The big ass 喜 word which I think it's really chio. For those who wished to have a oriental feel in their wedding can consider Peony Jade Clarke Quay.

With our family..

With Derp's friends..

Last but not least, with my friends. :)

And because the big ass 喜 word is a good background to take photo with..Time for more phototaking with the friends..

:)

The ladies making me 'pose' with the flowers and rings. lol!

:):)

With Derp's twin brother and Jolene.

Our guests start to leave around 2:45pm and around 3 plus, we went to have a mini outdoor photoshoot with the photographer. I'll blog about it again then.

Thank you everyone for coming and those who have helped us in one way or another to make this event happen!
