BKK Day 1 Part 2 - After You Dessert Cafe @ Central World, Super Heroes Cafe @ Central World, Pratunam Night Market

Back to update Part 2 of my Day 1 BKK trip. You may read part 1 here

After our filling dinner, we went back to Central World for desserts. Oh well it's our first meal of the trip (lunch + dinner) hence we were able to squeeze down some desserts before we call it a day.

Passed by this cute bear shop front in Central World and couldn't resist taking photo with the bear.

This shop is similar to our build-a-bear shop but I can't remember the name of this shop. There's more than 1 of this shop in the whole Central World and they are all located in between 2 shops, right in the middle of where the shoppers walk.

We were on the hunt for After You cafe. It's located at the 7th floor and mind you, the area of each level is really very big. We walked the wrong direction and it took us nearly another 5 mins to finally find the cafe. So you can totally imagine how huge the whole shopping mall is.

Years back when we visited Bangkok, we dined in at a restaurant on the 7th floor before. It wasn't that happening in the past but it's very crowded now even on a weekday night. Many shops have changed since then and they started opening very 'in' eateries which attract the crowd. The famus Jones Orphanage also have a branch there but it's a much smaller branch compared to the one at Thong Lo.

There was a queue forming outside After You cafe and thankfully there was a queue system. Since there was only 2 of us, it was easier for us to get a seat. We didn't wait that long, probably after 10 - 15 minutes our queue number appeared on their screen.

The menu

The counter.

When you are ready, you can just walk up to the counter and order your desserts :)

The drinks menu

The drinks which is free for all.

We saw many people taking the free drink so we follow suite too haha! It's actually some ice tea with flower scent in it. You can add the sugar syrup according to your preference.

After we were done ordering, our desserts came shortly after. Totally excited to try the famous Shibuya Honey Toast!

Hereby presenting to you the Shibuya Honey Toast which costs around SGD7

It taste really yummy even though I have not try the toast from Dazzling Cafe. It's our first time eating this kind of toast by the way. The texture and taste of it is really good but it's not something which we will keep eating it. That's because this dessert is really filling and we almost couldn't finish it.

I ordered a cup of Cappuccino - 95 Bhat (SGD 3.80)

Derp ordered Flat White - 95 Baht (SGD 3.80)

You might find us weird for drinking coffee at night but it doesn't really affect our sleep haha! In the past maybe but not now unless is those espresso shots. We are getting immune to coffee which is a bad sign. But for something sweet, we prefer a not so sweet drink to go with it.

Their coffee standard is acceptable, just like our cafes locally. The price is also cheaper too.

Mandatory shot

We will definitely go back there to have their desserts again in future when we are back in BKK. Perhaps we'll try their non-toast desserts next time round which are pretty popular too.

I love Bangkok cafes because of their affordable price, nice ambiance and not forgetting they serves quality food! It's really on par with those local cafes in Singapore or even better.

After we left After You cafe, we saw something that caught our attention and ended up staying another 1 hour in the mall!

There's a cinema on the same level as After You cafe and "Ant Man" movie was about to start screening soon.

Many people took photo of this/with this as it does looks quite real and seems like the life size of it.

Saw this and we went O.O haha! Poor Ant Man!

Near to the cinema theater we spotted this...

Hello Elsa!

It's actually right outisde a shop call the Super Heroes Cafe. I won't call it a cafe because there's too many merchandise for sale in the shop.

Saw this Hulkbuster in the middle of the shop

There were many other displays in the shop as well ..

They bring in not only Marvel but they also sell DC super heroes' merchandise..

All these were for sale!

In the inner part of it, that's where the cafe is!

We didn't have anything there but just simple went to take a look at it. Somehow everyone who come in to the whole place just to take photo and then leave after taking a look at all the merchandise.

All the merchandise are authentic so don't expect them to be cheap.

There's a 2nd floor in the shop. We climb the stairs up and saw this..

Funko Boggleheads!

They were priced around SGD20. Truth to be told, we had a few in our house and we lack of 1 to complete the particular series.

Too bad we didn't manage to find it there but they do have a wide range of Boggleheads. We had a good time looking through them even though we have no intention to buying them. #selfcontrol

Hello Olaf :)

For more information on this shop, you may click here. Google translate is needed if you do not know Thai language.

We made our trip back to the hotel after a long day. It was around 9pm local time and most of their stalls were actually closed by 8pm on a weekday.

The walk back to our hotel is always pitch dark because we have to pass by the alley before reaching Pratunam night market (located just below our hotel) . That's one of the reason why we hope to stay at other hotel in the next trip.

We spent sometime at Pratunam night market before heading back to our hotel room to call it a day..

There were lots of stuff selling at cheap price and I manage to get a new shades for myself. I happily took out my shades to bring for the trip but left it all on my dining table. -_-"

Stay tuned to the rest of my BKK posts. Can't wait to share about our trip the Silom Thai Cooking School. Till then!
