Pokemon Research Exhibition Singapore @ Sentosa

As the school holidays are approaching and many are clearing their leaves during this period, I reckon I should do up this review soon. even though I may have lots of backdated post. 

Hopefully this will help everyone has a better overview of what to expect from the Pokemon Research Exhibition. 

On my 28th birthday(few weeks back),  I decide to spend the birthday afternoon at the Pokemon Research Exhibition @ Sentosa. 

As you can see, the exhibition doesn't last that long. It's actually available for less than 3 months. I can't help but feel excited when I think of meeting the Pikachu mascot :) So I'm like going there solely to meet the Pikachu Mascot.

There's fix time slots for meeting the Pikachua mascot, so we plan to reach there at a time whereby we will meet the mascot while we were doing the mission there. 

Do note that the meet-the-pikachu-session timing are as follows: Daily at 11:30am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm.

We had a late lunch before heading to Sentosa as we planned to reach there in time for the late afternoon session to meet Pikachu.

As we bought our tickets in advance (to skip the queue and everything), we had the time to slowly made our way in.

Everywhere you go, you will be able to spot the Pokemon Exhibition poster giving you extra info on where to get the tickets and etc.

We reached roughly around 3+pm. Upon checking our registration email, the person in charge suggested us to come back at around 4:20pm - 4:30pm if not we will have to wait an hour plus inside for Pikachu to appear. Please note that 

The activities inside the Pokemon Research Exhibition doesn't take long to complete so we actually won't spend that much time inside. 

We went to visit the SEA Aquarium first before heading back to the Pokemon Research Exhibition. 

It wasn't our first time to the SEA Aquarium and I'll blog about it and other parts of the birthday celebration some other time then. 

We had a good slow walk in the SEA Aquarium and when we were done, it's almost 4:20pm. 

We went back to the Pokemon Research Exhibition's entrance once again and register ourselves before heading in.

Nope we didn't buy any because it's way too cold inside there. 

Upon entering the exhibition, we had to go through a mini briefing by the staff there regarding the mission given to us.

Bascially we have to choose 1 pokeball (additional ones can be purchased at 5 bucks) and to guess what's the pokemon in it. We are allow to choose 4 out of the 8 stations to find out more clues about the pokemon inside your pokeball.

Sad to say, we are not allowed to bring the pokeball home as souvenir. We are require to return it before leaving the exhibition.

 By right it's supposed to show us which pokemon it can be but doesn't seems to help much haha. The difficulty level is indeed the highest among the rest. 

I chose the Great Ball. 

I'm afraid it will be too difficult even though I have Derp's help. Or both of us might not even guess the pokemon correctly so it's better to play safe to choose 1 medium level one instead haha.

Seems like it's much simpler than the Ultra Ball's booklet. We did a comparison of our booklets and realize some of the pokemons are similar but not all. Oh well, at the very least they did narrow down to these few pokemons instead of letting us guess from the list of 700 pokemons on their pokedex wall.

There's a chance to get a Snorlax in your pokeball haha! And dragonite too :)

Before we embarked on our mission to guess the pokemon in our pokeballs, we spotted Pikachu walking out to greet us. I felt elated when seeing him (or maybe her because he's shorter than me).

Soon a queue was formed to take pic with Pikachu and we were one of the lucky ones to be the first few to take photo with him.

After the photo taking, we continue with our mission to find the pokemon in our pokeball.

These are the description of the 8 stations. 

We chose to go with stations 2,3,4 and 7. 

We find the height and weight gauge, footprint collector and cry gauge stations pretty useless. We are probably not pro in the sound they will make and as for the others, we do know that the height and weight doesn't tally with what we perceive it to be.

The last few stations that's located near to the exit. The answer checker is at the far end and on the right is the exit of the exhibition. 

The whole exhibition is pretty small. I will describe it as you can walked finish the whole area within 10-15 mins (without playing the mission/taking photos).  

The most interesting place of the exhibition (in my opinion) has got to be the Pokedex Gallery.

For the pokemon fans out there, you'll probably learn lots from the Pokedex Wall because it has all the pokemons from different generations. My knowledge of them has probably increased.

And if you are wondering why is it so empty without people photo bombing us, there really isn't much people on a weekday afternoon haha.

This is Station 3 - Outline Shooter whereby we are to step left and right as quickly as possible to 'power up' the generator to review the outline of the pokemon.

I was totally tired after this activity and it was the first we tried. But I must say, it's the most fun station. At least it require some effort on your part to get the hint. 

We went on to Station 2 - Silhouette Shooter.

It's advisable to take photo of what's the hint on your screen if there's any for future reference so that when you go to the Pokedex wall, it does help you to find the Pokemon in your pokeball base on the information you gathered.

No photos for the Appearance Anlayzer station, but the station does gives you very important hints about your pokemon in word form. They describe it for you like for example the color of the pokemon and etc.

As for the Face Magnifier station, it's actually quite useless but we went ahead to try it since the rest of the station is not anywhere better.

He's actually quite big haha..

Btw I'm 1.63m, so you can imagine his size. 

It definitely don't look as cute as the Pikachu Mascot.

One more with the Pokedex Wall..

So we guessed this to be the pokemon in Derp's Pokeball.

1 of the clues given to us at the Appearance Analzyer stage was "It's body is white in color and it has flaps.." 

We narrow our choices down to finding pokemons with white body haha. 

This is my pokemon.

Derp has actually spot the maple leaf prints on it's body during the first station, Outline shooter. So we are pretty confident that it will be him.

Both of us got our answers correct :) Okay we have been very serious in finding the answers haha! 

Can't remember this pokemon's name but it was there for the public to take photo with. 

The souvenirs shop outside the SEA Aquarium does sell pokemon related souvenirs. But I spot nothing cute so we went home empty handed. No idea why they didn't bring in pokeballs to sell though.

Before the Pikachu left, I went to took a photo with him once again haha! This time round I manage to hug it :) 

Feeling like a kid once again to chase after Pikachu on my 28th birthday! The tickets may not be cheap but it's worth it for this little happiness. 

We spent a total of 1 hour plus in there including all the time taken for photo taking and completing the mission. So it's actually quite a small exhibition.
