Baby Elna's Baby Shower

Few Saturdays back, Derp and I attended Elna's baby shower at Coasta Sand Resort. The previous time, Kyler's baby shower was at ECP's Gold Kist chalet. This time round, it's held at Coasta Sand Resort which is much more acccessible.

Revisiting Downtown East area brought back much memories with my poly/uni mates.

I attend 1-2 chalets almost every holiday from poly to uni days :) Night cycling and night supper session were something not to be missed and a MUST in our itinerary.

Not forgetting, we would be very effort to shop for BBQ stuff and have BBQ on the first night. It's hard to organize BBQ nowadays because no one wants to do all the marinating/cleaning up after wards. Feeling thankful and grateful for having supportive parents and bf(at that time), hence I didn't miss all of this fun times. #YOLO After every chalet, I can concuss for many hours straight lol.

Back to Baby Elna's Baby shower, We took a bus from our new place and reached there within half hour. Our bus stopped outside downtown east and we had to walk in. It wasn't that far and it beats waiting for that particular bus which took forever to come.

#OOTD - Romper from In House Fashion

My first and proper meal that day so I can't help but took a mountain of food. I was really famished!

We didn't stay that long because we intend to head to Derp's place to grab some stuffs left behind by him, since we were already in that area. We left before my other friends came. Oh well, there's plentiful of  chances to meet again :)

Took some pics with the star of the night before I left, Elna is such an angel! She slept throughout and I really hope she will be guai guai all the way and don't give much problem to her mother.

Esther went to find the hair accessories for her  and put it on before we took the picture lol.

Derp met Elna for the first time because he didn't went with me to visit Esther after Elna is born. I do think he agree with me about Elna is an angel too haha!

:)

Second bundle of joy.

A group photo with Elna.

Esther walk us out and took the chance to parade Elna around for photo taking. We took one last photo with the backdrop :)

I'm so happy for my bestie because she gave birth to a boy and then a girl now. So blessed :) I'm looking forward to the day her 2 bundles of joy grow up and join us in our outings. Having said that, that would means we have aged. :( So contradicting isn't it? I guess, that's life. :)

Review: Philips Dailytouch Garment Steamer

I'm back with the review of the Philips Dailytouch Garment Steamer which I gotten lately thanks to the voucher from Megagamie. More details on how to get the voucher you can read it here :)

It's pretty easy to fix the garment steamer up after you unbox it. It comes with the clothes hanger so that you can hang your clothes up, and also a glove to protect your hands. However, I'm too lazy to kiap the clothes up to the hanger so usually I will hang my hanger onto the holder for the steamer and just iron my clothes.

FYI: I'm pretty bad with the traditional iron and not all of my dresses are easy to iron, especially those which are of chiffon material. I can never get it right with the traditional iron after ironing for more than 15 minutes, my chiffon type of clothes will still have places that has creases.

Philips Dailytouch Garment Steamer has definitely helped me a lot and save lots of time :)

I love the fact that it comes in my favourite color and it doesn't take up much space in my new flat. I can't possible put a big ass garment steamer in my new flat because new hdb are constrained by the limited space.

I tried garment steam-ing my newly arrived romper from The Velvet Dolls.

It was really crumpled and made of chiffon material. Basically, if I were to iron it with the normal iron, I think I will need more than 15 minutes to get it done.

After 5 minutes of going through up and down my romper, here's the end results...

Ta dah! It's really easy to use, a total no brainer and your clothes will be ease of all the crease in no time. :) I then used another 5 minutes for the back of the romper. It's amazing isn't it? :)

The next day, I tried it out with my dress from Love Bonito. I haven't worn it out yet before that's because I have not iron it yet. Simply too lazy nowadays because there's a thousand and one thing to do after having a place on your own.

The before state of the dress, pretty crumpled and have lots of creases too..

A close up of the creases

After using the garment steamer for the front portion, that's how it looks like now...

Alright, now let's take a look at the back of the dress. It's even more crumpled up!

Nvm, with the Philips Dailytouch Garment Steamer, I've confident that I will get it straight in no time.

That's how I usually use it.

My right hand will hold the steamer and my left hand will be wearing the glove so that my left hand can hold up the dress for me. That's especially required when you have to specifically go through to and fro a certain spot of the dress to get it right.

The top part of the dress before using the garment steamer...

And the aftermath...So awesome! I effortlessly iron my clothes with the garment steamer.

The before state of the bottom part of the dress...

The end result..:)

So far, I'm having a good experience with the Philips Dailytouch Garment Steamer. Garment steamer is definitely one of the better invention in the recent years but I must also say Air Fryer is still the number one invention (that's my point). I'm going to share more about air fryer in time to come, in the mean time I'm still experimenting it.

The promoton for the garment steamer is up till end of this month, 31st July 2014. So do purchase from Megagamie if you are thinking of getting this garment steamer at a much cheaper price. It's really a steal! You have got up till end of august to purchase your garment steamer.

Do head over to here for more information.

Happy garment steam-ing all your beautiful clothes :)

A Trip to Philips Showroom & Toa Payoh West Market & Food Centre (Hong Kong Long Hua Roasted Delight & Teochew Handmade Pao)

Derp and I made a trip down to Philips Showroom last weekend to get my garment steamer! Woo hoo, I finally own one of this awesome stuff and it comes in my favorite color. I'll blog about the review of the awesome steamer soon (hopefully by this weekend).

Megagamie is giving out vouchers for Philips Dailytouch Garment Steamer with every purchase of their stuff from now till 31st July! The voucher entitles you to purchase the Philips Dailytouch Garment Steamer at only $99. It's really a steal because the original price is 189!

Upon knowing the promoton, I quickly carted out a dress from one of their latest collection. The dress costs probably $30+ which means my garment steamer will costs me $130. It's still worth it. I did a quick caculation and realise the newly bought iron + this philips garment steamer we got it at a discounted price is around the same price as the original garment steamer price.

The garment steamer was one of my least priority stuff to buy for the new place, because the cheapest I've seen is more than $100. I don't even know how good it is and have never use it before hence I will rather when I have the budget then go get one. I know I need one of this because I can't really iron my clothes well. But after knowing this promotion and reading about it on Megagamie's blog, I know I had to get it and never regret it. It's really awesome!

The Philips showroom is of a walkable distance from Caldecott MRT station. It's around 10-15 mins walk.

We went there on a Saturday morning, but who knows they were having staff/member discount sales and it's really crowded. Everyone is grabbing Philips product as though they were free but I had a good look around all the household products :) Shopping for groceries/household stuff can be more exciting that simply shopping online for clothes.

We head over to Toa Payoh West Market & Food Center for our lunch after grabbing the garment steamer. It's our first time there and we were really famished after getting the garment steamer.

I couldn't really decide what to eat because I'm spoiled for choice even though many stalls weren't open. Monkey see monkey do, I ended up queueing for this stall , Hong Kong Long Hua Roasted Delight, which has a really long queue.

My lunch of the day (first meat of the day too) - Char Siew and Roasted Meat rice with Gizzard(liver).

The stall owners were really friendly and they have lots of regular customers. But I did told the auntie to add gravy for me when she asked me. Overall, I find it really dry. Nothing special about it, perhaps it will be better if there's some gravy on it. Come to think of it, Derp and I have the legendary Sally Roast Meat duck at our workplace's canteen. It's hard to find roast meat that is on par with what we always eat at our workplace.

We then saw many people going over to buy buns from Teochew Handmade Pao. We kept seeing people tabao-ing lots of baos from there to bring home, but we were quite full so I went to order 1 Char Siew Bao each for us to try.

It's my first time having Teo Chew Pao though I'm a Teo Chew -_-". They are really small as compare to normal bao we eat and it costs 60 cents each. Pretty costly! 2 mouths and the bao is gone.

The char siew filling. I must admit you can't taste any fatty meat inside and the filling is really different and much tastier than the normal char siew bao we eat. But for the price pay, I don't think is something which one should be eating daily. haha! Probably once in a while :)

I'll be back with the review of  Philips Dailytouch Garment Steamer really soon!

Jog from Sengkang Riverside Park to Punggol Waterway

Few days after we settled down in the new place, we reckoned it's time to hit the tracks again! We have been so busy that we only workout once per week, as for Derp, sometimes not even once. But this time round, we are at a totally new environment and it's a route which I've been wanting to explore for the longest time.

This also means that we are back to our pre-wedding photoshoot venue, it's so surreal and the memories of our photoshoot still stays whenever I/We go for a jog :):) Can't believe that it's just less than few minutes walk from my new place! Loves to be staying so near to the nature.

The park has really beautiful sky every evening. I'm totally enjoying it every moment. It calms my mind and a good place to wind down after a busy day of work.

There was a park connector which leads to Punggol Waterway. There's also another park connector which leads to hougang if I'm not wrong. (I'm still exploring the connector to hougang by myself hehe!)

During evening time, there are many runners and also cyclists. But the route are wide enough, that's one part I love the most. My old running route used to be really narrow and I've to slow down to overtake people who are walking home.

Otw to punggol, we saw this water dam.

Passed by this painting which was drawn by Derp's friend. haha!

We passed by quite a few of the BTO project facing punggol waterway too. They are almost completed!

This was meant to be our another photoshoot venue but we couldn't find it. Oh well, we ended at a place which was beautiful too for our night shoot :) It's also in Punggol and there's hardly any people who take their photoshoot there.

:)

Alright my bad, I'm a lousy photographer haha!

If I'm not round, when the night falls the whole area will be light up. We didn't stay too long to see it though.

#selfie

My #ootd that day before we jog back.

It was a 2-3km route there and another 2-3 km back.

I'm really grateful that such scenic place exists and I can really make good use of them now. This has defintely motivates me to run more often, run further, faster and explore all these beautiful places.

Victor's Kitchen @ Sunshine Plaza

Saturdate with Derp to select our wedding photos! Time really flies and we were too busy till we forgot that we have not selected our photos yet.

#OOTD that day. Peplum top from Redpoppiez :)

We were given 2 hours to select our photos and we were done before 2 hours are up. I guess we were very objective and have a common plan in our mind, which makes the whole selection process easier. I've no idea how other couples can select photos for more than 2 hours, isn't it tiring?

I still remember when we go select our laminates for the new place, we get it done really fast because we already had a theme in mind. So couples, do discuss them out and have a clear objective in mind!

Since our bridal studio is near sunshine plaza, we head over to Victor's Kitchen for our lunch. Derp have tried it before during his uni days but not me! The queue seems to be always long and we did queue a little while before having a seats. The turn over rate wasn't that bad that day.

The whole place was really squeezy and compact.

We sat at the most inner corner and kind of regretted it. lol. When we left, the whole row of people got to stand up and let us out. That's how squeezy it is!

Victor's Kitchen sells mainly dim sum! We love dim sum :)

So here's what we ordered...

They were serving some specials that day and egg tart is one of them.

It was still steaming hot and totally melt in our mouth on the first bite. Not too sweet and totally perfect, I've got nothing to complain about. It's not on their menu though but if you hear from the waitress that they have this special, do order it.

Our custard (liu sha) buns

It's defintely on par with those yummy liu sha baos I've eaten at other dim sum places in Singapore.

What's dim sum without har-gao (prawn dumpling)? :)

It was really hot and the prawns inside was really fresh. The skin of the har-gao is thin enough, I hate those har-gaos with thick flour inside and little prawns inside.

Fried prawn dumpling which tasted as good.

Minced pork with dried vege porridge

This tasted so-so. We shared this because we know we will be full by eating all the yummy dim sums.

Derp's having his liu sha bao. Probably preventing it from dripping everywhere.

Me trying to grab the last har-gao to pose with it but I gave up in the end.

Alright just take a photo without it then haha!

I've got nothing to complain about the dim sum there, and I'm missing Swee Choon at this moment. Our bill costs up to less than $30 bucks which is pretty reasonable. We were already full even before eating the porridge.

The only downside of this place is why is the place soooo compact and cramp? We have to say sorry to many people just to get to the cashier to pay our bill.

I'll defintely go back if I'm around that area and actually Sunshine Plaza do have lots of other food too. A place with hidden gems :)
