8th Years Anniversary & Sundown Marathon Staycation @ Marina Bay SandsHotel (Day 2 - South Coast @ MBS, Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh @ Raspura MastersFoodcourt)

This post should have been up quite sometime ago since I've blog about Day 1 of the staycation few weeks back. But anyway, here comes Day 2 of the staycation.

We went to explore a new restaurant in MBS called South Coast. I was just randomly finding brunch place in MBS the night before and came across this restaurant. The food seems not bad since  we have already tried Au Chocolat the other time, time to have something new!

We had a really good sleep because it's Sundown Marathon day, in short, we have to sleep enough, eat enough and rest well for the marathon.

We headed over to South Coast at around 10 ++ am. It's a outdoor eatery so it's located at the outskirt of MBS. Those who have ran marathon at that area before would have pass by this place before. There's a whole stretch of restaurants/pubs at the area. It's opposite of LV Island Store.

There wasn't much people on a Saturday morning.

Their brunch menu.

Derp ordered eggs benedict.

I ordered the pancakes! My favourite type of brunch :)

:)

Alright, I've got the just wake up look lol.

Overall, the brunch @ South Bar was not bad but not as good as Au Chocolat. Price wise is slightly lower than Au Chocolat too. During the day, they serve the normal type of brunch/lmains and the place turns into a pub at night.

Saw some moths while we head back into MBS to blow some aircon...

A #OOTD in MBS. Love it when there's not much people around, best timing to take OOTD!

We went up to the MBS sky park to have a walk after our filling brunch. All the beautiful skylines which I usually come across whenever I run a marathon in town areas :)

The starting point of Sundown Marathon. It was less than 12 hours to the race, felt so nervous at tat point of time.

It was around noon when we went up, the sun was so glaring that I hardly could open my eyes. And I forgot to pack my shades for the staycation.

Another #ootd worthy shot.

:)

Took a couple picture before we left and head back to the hotel to rest for the marathon that night.

I as feeling hungry once I reach back the hotel and Derp was too lazy to go out to buy our late lunch. So I went out to ta bao some food back for us to enjoy in the hotel room.

Bought this not cheap chicken rice but it was yummy. Nothing is cheap in MBS. #fact

That was our afternoon carbo load and we napped an hour or so before waking up for late dinner. We were really scared we feel hungry during the 21km. It was our first 21km afterall, don't really dare to risk it but do all we can to prepare ourselves for it. (Enough sleep and enough carbo, but not enough training at all).

Derp had Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh @  Raspura MastersFoodcourt.

I was telling him it's a famous bak ku teh in Singapore and they opened a small branch in MBS food court. He's a bak ku teh lover so that's his carbo load dinner.

The soup is up to our expectation, the peppery type of bak ku teh soup :) Probably, we will head to their main branch the next time round to try it.

I had pepper lunch, nothing much to say about. Just enough rice for me.

After all the eating, we went back to the room to have dessert lol! I bought a piece of cake the day before and find no chance to eat it. We ate that before running the marathon :)

Thankfully, I didn't gain weight after the staycation because it's really a eat-max staycation. I lost 1kg after the marathon and it lasted for a few days. ><.

After all this eating, it's time for Sundown. You can read more about Sundown Marathon here.

On Day 3, we woke up after only a few hours of sleep and prepare to check out the hotel. I only manage to slept at 7am. I'm really grateful that Derp's Mum has a room for us for this stacyacation and we finally take a break after half year of busy-ing with our wedding/house renovation. Woo hoo! :)

Looking forward to our next trip, hopefully we can work something out and travel before 2014 ends. More than half the year is gone! Time really needs to slow down because 2014 is simply awesome :)
