It's our 7th anniversary day and We're in Taiwan :)

We woke up for breakfast as usual, but this time We woke up a little later than usual and also have more time to enjoy our breakfast because the set off time was 11am.

A sumpstuous breakfast that day.

It's only during holidays then you will have time to sit down and slowly enjoy your breakfast. sigh, life of a working singaporean.

SAM_1115
enjoying the view outside the hotel while having breakfast though I know it's nth much lol.

SAM_1117
Testing the split shot function of my camera. Somehow it looks weird lol.

SAM_1118
The rooms in Kindness Hotel have 2 doors. My first time seeing this type of hotel room. Probably for security purposes but a little troublesome on our side.

Upon leaving our hotel, We took a short walk to Kaohsiung Main Station to take their train to their airport for our domestic flight.

SAM_1121

SAM_1123
Probably Singapore should incorporate such queuing system at our MRT stations.

It's a very small airport because it mainly handles domestic flight, so nth much at the airport. You might just mistaken this place for a train station.

Our tickets for flying to Hua Lien.

SAM_1127
On the plane before taking off.

The flight was around 1 hour. I initially wanted to sleep on the plane but before I could, the plane have reached Hua Lien

Our lunch that day was famous 便当 in Hua Lien. Do check it out when you visit Hua Lien, this brand is pretty famous there.

This pork cutlet is way much better than Hot Star Chicken! :)

We had this while We were on the way  to Taroko Gorge. I was quite looking forward to it but the road was block to the top was block for a few hours. So in the end, We skip this attraction. :( The road was blocked due to the falling rocks caused by the earth quake few days back. Hence, our bus make a u-turn back to go to Shakadang Trail instead and Changchun Temple

Hua Lien is full of beautiful scenery.

This red bridge took the Taiwan people a long time to build it only till when they start praying to god for help then it works. I've forgotten the full story of it actually cause it's been 2 months since I'm back.

SAM_1144
Shakadang Trail.

SAM_1145
That's the chang chun temple.

SAM_1146

SAM_1150
The start of the Shakadang Trail. In the past,  the people there build this trail all the way to link up to other aboriginal villages. Derp and I didn't walk the trail because it was raining haha! So we just stay put around to took some photos.

Upon leaving Shakadang Trail, We head on to the Hua Lien Marble Factory. We weren't allow to take photos inside. They sell all kinds of colourful cheap to expensive rocks inside. Hua Lien has lots of natural resources for example marble.

Outside the Hua Lien Marble Factory, there's many cute figurines crafted out from stone. Can't help but to take photo with them.

SAM_1154
lol.

There's the 12 zoodiacs too hence everyone starting finding their own one to take photo with.

The restaurant for our buffet dinner and breakfast :)

SAM_1164

SAM_1165

SAM_1166
View from the room in Hua Lien.

If you realised, Hua Lien is a very relax town and people living there lead a simple lifestyle. :) No high-rise buildings/night life there, and also not much vehicles travelling around. I remember my tour guide saying many have houses here but they have moved to the other parts of Taiwan. Hua Lien is definitely a good place to consider for retirement.

SAM_1168

We rest awhile before heading down for buffet dinner. Anyway it's probably one of the best dinner We had there and taking out own sweet time to eat.

SAM_1170
Very small can drink.

SAM_1171
Me having some greens before my mains.

The buffet served was quite a spread, there's western food, Japaneses food, Chinese food and all of which are up to standard. :)

SAM_1176
We shared some cakes and have some tea for desserts. The way they present the cake is super old school, remind me of the cakes I love to eat when I was young.

SAM_1178
#OOTD shot. Took with the nice decoration of the hotel. The hotel don't look that grand on the outside btw.

We walked to a nearby 7-11 after our dinner. The hotel people told us just walk straight till u see the police station and turn left, it's very near. But to us it's so god damn far. -_-". Totally not near. The next day our tour mates were complaining about it too.

Bought back yakult and this chips for supper but I only manage to have the yakult. I brought back the chips to SG but till now I haven't got a chance to eat it yet. -_-". I love the yakult in Taiwan cause they are all so big! Why Singapore's yakult all so small and expensive?
